Even with only 5 weeks of sales that's really quite bad that 'Under Control' isn't even top 100... :( Shame as it is a really good song, my favourite of Calvin's 2013 singles (and I loved all 4 of them).

I did speculate when Bingo Players hit #1 that it would probably end up at the bottom of the EOY too 75 and I got shot down and criticised for speaking too soon! Hmm...

Thanks. Down on both fronts fairly significantly then. Must be a while since you could get an EOY top 100 album without shifting 100k!

I must admit considering it was his big comeback and all, not even top 20 for JT is pretty disappointing. (Have the two 20/20 Experience sale been combined for that final or did the second one really sell that badly?)

 

Interesting how the majority of the 10+ peaking singles that made the top 100 were guitar/indie based songs, especially as that genre was once seen as quite frontloaded and 'fanbase' in nature around five/six years ago

I agree. It peaked in popularity (as the instrumental version) months before it was even on the radio. #69 in 2012's year-end chart would have been more appropriate than 2013's year end chart.

 

However, it wasn't a poor seller at all. It sold very well, especially given how it sounds. Nobody is saying Same Love or Ready Or Not were poor sellers, yet they sold around the same amount. All the songs in the top 100 did well to get there.

 

On another note, nice to see Disclousre narrowly getting in this year after being at #101 with Latch last year iirc.

Calvin will definitely pass 200,000 in the long run though (i.e. enough to be in the year-end top 100). He's just unlucky to be too close to the end of the year.

FYI : For the top 20 positions, my average error margin is +/- 0.25% of the total, rising to more like +/- 0.5% at the lower end of the T100. The higher figures tend to be more accurate because MW publishes more regular figures for the bigger hits.
