Jools Holland's Hootenanny looks good this year and worth recording.

 

Some good acts on this year except for the one horrendous singer that's on every year - I mean RUBY TURNER :puke2:

The magic was lost when I first realised that it wasn't live and they were all acting like it was new year. I was similarly annoyed the first time I realised the Queen's speech wasn't live either.

It's a lot easier to record it and watch it later. That way I can skip the acts I don't like and Jools Holland's inane waffle as well as getting the audience to shout Hootenanny umpteen times as if they were on Crackerjack.

Watched this once and never again. Will be avoiding this and Jackie Bird like the plague tomorrow night.

You bunch of miseries. It's great fun!

And Jools' cringey banter is a part of the appeal. Plus the sight of loads of drunken celebs together dancing to some performance by a band who haven't had a hit since the 80s. Win!
