It's sold 980k.

It's actually nearer 994K now - I hadn't updated that total on the last T50 of the decade chart I posted.

I think "La La La" will be the next to reach 1,000,000 - possibly as early as July, then "Firework" and "Give Me Everything".

"Jar of Hearts" and "Starships" should get there in 2015 if they keep selling. "Jar of Hearts" was on 929,087 as of the end of October 2013 and was still selling ~1K per week suggesting an early 2015 point.

"Hung Up" would have been a million seller in the post 2009 digital sales explosion, I mean it managed 600K even in a low sales era. Though if you had the high sales in 2005 so would "Axel F" by the Crazy Frog. :P

Clean Bandit's 'Rather Be' could be a million seller. Maybe not this year but it has the potential to trickle over.
How much has "Umbrella" still left to go? How ironic that 10 weeks at #1 would get your poor sales in 2007 and now you don't even have to reach #1 to sell a million from 2011 on.
Still quite a way to go! Last estimated figure for 'Umbrella' was 820,000 at the end of 2013. It's currently her 6th best selling single in the UK.

I think it is around 820K, absolutely miles to go ! Not bad though considering she was only at 512,730 in 2007.

-By the end of 2009 it had surpassed 674K (an average rate of ~1550 per week)

-and in May 2012 when they did the 'Top 150 of the Millennium' it was #53 with sales of ~784K (at an average rate of ~890 per week, with thanks to Gezza).

If she continues to sell at say around 600 per week it will take her about 5.77 years to reach 1,000,000.. so around December 2019. :P

Has 'Pure and Simple' sold 1 million? Out of curiosity :P
Yes- it was one of the few million sellers in the 2000s. Sold 1,090,000.

Thank You :D I was watching old videos on tv today and it had a sales - 1 next to it and I got confused

There is some weirdness with the sales but is Everything but the Girl- Missing anywhere near it yet?

OCC have today given an updated list of UK million sellers. The previous update was on 27/6/13. It gives (here) a list of numerically descending million sellers. Quite a number of songs have changed positions.

La La La has broken through the million copies sales barrier to become the UK’s 148th million selling single. Plus: the UK's biggest selling singles of all time revealed!

According to the Official Charts Company’s sales data, Naughty Boy and Sam Smith’s La La La has now become one of the biggest selling singles in British history, smashing though one million UK sales. La La La is only the 148th track to reach this sales milestone since the Official Singles Chart began in November, 1952.

Elton John’s Something About The Way You Look Tonight / Candle In The Wind ’97 remains the UK’s biggest selling single of all time with 4.92 million sales to its name. Band Aid’s Do They Know It’s Christmas is in second place with 3.75 million sales, followed by Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody (2.44 million sales). The Top 5 is completed by Wings’ Mull Of Kintyre / Girls’ School (2.08 million sales) and John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John’s You’re The One That I Want (2.05 million sales).

Still quite a way to go! Last estimated figure for 'Umbrella' was 820,000 at the end of 2013. It's currently her 6th best selling single in the UK.
I love how 820k is only her SIXTH best selling single! It's insane just how successful she is/has been! Back in 2006, even after 'Shut Up & Drive' in 2007 actually, I never thought she'd be this successful! SO HAPPY for her though.
Happy is going to chart high on this list, as i believe it has the potential to pass 1.6 million sales.

Interesting seeing the top 148 million sellers.

I wonder if Band Aid will ever overtake Elton John and regain the top spot? Don't ask how many Christmases that might take :D
