How can I see the popularity bars in iTunes 9 & 10?

Use this link: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore...aultSeeAllSongs

Then select 'View' and tick 'popularity', alternatively, in the headings bar (Artist, Album, Time, etc), right click and select 'popularity'

I think its going to be a battle between Pitbull and Pharrell they seem to be very tight on LPB's, I don't think any of the new releases will dent the top 20, probably Hardwell and Ray Foxx will be the only 2 new entries between 21-40.

looks like Hardwell is the only top 40 contender from the new releases, since i can't see Solveig/Luke or Ray Foxx even coming close to the top 100

105. Hardwell - Dare You (feat. Matthew Koma) [Radio Edit]

701. Eliza and the Bear - It Gets Cold

734. Ray Foxx - Fireworks (Bang Bang) [feat. J Warner] [Radio Edit]

Florence and the Machine

Marina and the Diamonds

Esben and the Witch

Niki and the Dove

Eliza and the Bear

Is this some sort of record label in-joke? I'm gonna create a band and call it '[Female] and the [Noun]', see you on iTunes next year...

Well it's about time the world's "supposed" #1 DJ actually has a song on the charts, not sure what on earth he's done to earn that accolade given the global successes of the likes of Avicii, Calvin Harris & David Guetta, to name the obvious.

Oh yes. How did they forget that DJs are ranked on their mainstream success. Yep. That's how it works right there

15. Do What U Want (feat. Christina Aguilera) - Lady Gaga

29. Do What U Want (feat. R. Kelly) - Lady Gaga

New peak? G'won, Gaga!

If Gaga was to release the music video of 'Do What U Want' within the next 7 days I'm almost positive that it would be able to obtain a new peak !

I wonder if Beyonce could enter the top 10 on iTunes next week? Urgh at the Vamps looking to be a dead cert for number one in a couple of weeks though :(

13. Beyonce - Drunk In Love

Umm... being a great dj is very different to being a great selling recording artist. Tïesto has been one for years and years but doesn't have big chart hits (one top 20 entry)

 74. Hardwell - Dare You (feat. Matthew Koma) [Radio Edit]

:cheer: :cheer: :cheer: G'won Hardwell! Should easily go top 40 at this rate, possibly top 20 due to nothing else happening this week?

Tiesto has had continued success all over the world & charted highly throughout Europe, he also had another top 20 in his Gouryella guise.

Would be nice to see Dare You become a decent sized hit, it's a huge grower. Matthew Koma sounds so much like a woman, I thought the same about his feature on Zedd's Spectrum

Do people think that 'the weekend effect' still exists as much as it used to? 2-3 years ago we were used to seeing aging dance and club songs rise hugely at the weekend due to people hearing them out and buying them the next day, but I haven't seen it mentioned in this thread for a while now, and indeed we're now at Sunday and the new releases by Matrix and Futurebound and Fuse ODG seem to have grown more and more going into the weekend, whereas previously they might have been expected to fall at the expense of older releases.

My only theory for this effect seemingly dissipating a little is the increased variety in the charts compared to 2-3 years ago. Perhaps a lot of the big hits around at the moment are completely unsuited to clubs, whereas in early 2011 you couldn't move for 'club bangers'.

I think it still exists (maybe slightly less so than before) but people have just got used to it and stopped commenting on it as much. The performance of Fuse ODG and Matrix & Futurebound this week is still outside the norm IMO, although having said that it seems to be very much the norm for Matrix & Futurebound for some reason

Re: Matthew Koma, I don't recall thinking he sounded female on 'Spectrum' and certainly not on his solo material that I've heard but he definitely does sound female on 'Dare You'! I heard it on R1 the other day without knowing what it was and I was quite shocked when I realised it.

Shouldn't hard well get a decent boost from the advert on constantly last night?

It's probably because a lot of people are not back fully into their 'normal' routine after the Christmas break yet. That and the lack of new releases out, plus I doubt many people are out this weekend due to being skint after the Christmas & New Year period. Wait a few weeks and I'm sure the weekend effect will be a bit more effective again.

On another note I hope Gardwell can go at least Top 40 this week, hopefully it will reach Top 20! :)

I know this is unrelated/irrelevant, but I've just discovered that Lorde's 'No Better' is now removed from iTunes completely (apparently they deleted it after it stopped being part of the Xmas giveaway thing), oops. Well at least it has an excuse for doing bugger all now.

I see an 'extended' version of her album including the song on US iTunes but it was released there on 13 Dec and obviously wasn't released here - I hope she does eventually, not least because it'd finally allow UK citizens to legally own 'Million Dollar Bills' and 'The Love Club' after she didn't release 'The Love Club EP' here either
