 41. Hardwell "Dare You"

Oh dear, thought this could've gone T10 on account of how long it's been hanging around/the R1 support. By no means Hardwell's best, why "Apollo" and "Never Say Goodbye" didn't get UK chart success I'll never know.

"Timber" to hold on to number-one please!

I expect Hardwell will gradually climb throughout the week and go Top 30 next Sunday.

He did.....but The A Team was almost 3 years ago now. Wasn't 'I See Fire' released OA/OS? Obviously it's had next to no promotion or airplay so hasn't done great but is back Top 40, but the first single from his new album could do better. We'll have to wait and see. :)

I think it started as an on air release but then was held back when hey saw it could be a hit!

George Ezra just announced as #5 in the Sound of 2014 poll. Saw him live back in October supporting Tom Odell and then "Budapest" reached the T100 last month? Another singer/songwriter, but there's something very unique about him.

I like to think Sam Smith winning this year is a given, but with Banks, Chloe Howl, Ella Eyre and Sampha all still to place, I'm not sure who BBC won't place; and of course they'll surely chuck a band in to the T5 (so Royal Blood).

I think it started as an on air release but then was held back when hey saw it could be a hit!

'I See Fire' was never intended or promoted as a single. It only re-entered due to the film being released.

Good to see Hardwell finally break into the top 40, hopefully it can chart top 30 on Sunday! Shame Blow has done nothing would have been great to see two dance tracks doing well.

Sadly I can see The Vamps getting to number one, but I really hope Katy B or Gorgon City could be potential contenders! Crying for No Reason is just

Agreed, and it completely deserves Number 1  but for some reason I just don't see it doing that well :(

He was talking about 'The A Team' (and I think 'I See Fire' is a single, it was just released as an instant grat from the film soundtrack rather than being given a proper single release).

I'm assuming this is the song in the Center [sic] Parcs ad?

 85. Rather Be (feat. Jess Glynne) - Clean Bandit

The Vamps pre-order still not top 200. Starting to think this may actually be #1 (or at least the highest new entry, wouldn't surprise me if #1 that week is just Pitbull/Pharrell again).

Sophie Ellis-Bextor now at #87. Who knew she was still relevant? :o

In other news:

30. Hardwell 'Dare You (feat. Matthew Koma)' :cheer:

33. Sub Focus 'Turn Back Time'

35. Mike Hough 'Better'

48. Tinie Tempah 'Lover Not a Fighter (feat. Labrinth)'

51. Beyoncé 'XO'

54. Busta Rhymes 'Thank You (feat. Q-Tip, Kanye West & Lil' Wayne)'

59. Vance Joy 'Riptide'

75. American Authors 'Best Day of My Life'

Is that Sophie Ellis-Bextor song a new release? Will add it to the first post if so.

I'm guessing the fact she was on Strictly Come Dancing just a few weeks ago might just about explain why she's to some extent back in the public eye :P

EDIT: Released on 21/11/2013 according to iTunes so not sure why it's only taking off now.

Get that HIT Sophie. Would love it if she was one of them artists getting random success in 2014. Young Blood is lovely so it would be deserved imo.
