Laura Palmer and Atlas are surprising considering they weren't exactly big hits. The others aren't surprising at all, in fact I expected Blurred Lines to be closer to the 14 weeks of Gotye.

I think 'Laura Palmer' is the most surprising of all, considering it didn't even make the Top 40. Just goes to show how much Radio 1 bum Bastille!

I expected 'Get Lucky' to be up there with the longest runners but that surprisingly was only playlisted for 7 weeks :o

Oh course 'Get Lucky' is missing from that list! :o Very surprising given it was such a massive hit on radio and sales wise!

Yea they werent but in Laura Palmers case it was the 2nd single from the album which was one of the biggest break throughs of the yr so even without a massive single hit they wanted to show them support!

Great to see a new playlist, wonder if its just because its the new yr or if the new updates are on a monday now?

Are you adding 2 weeks to your playlist data mango?

Oh yes! That seems to get played at the start of EVERY SINGLE HOUR.

They do but indie acts dont really get played in many other commercial stations so im happy enough!

Are you adding 2 weeks to your playlist data mango?

No, if a playlist stays static for 2 weeks (like it does over xmas) I count that as one week - so by 'number of weeks' I really mean 'number of playlists'!

Ah right i add 2 weeks because there may have only been one playlist but the single still had alist rotation for both weeks!
Yeah that's true - but then again due to all the extra Christmas songs etc., playlist singles don't get as many spins as they would on normal weeks so it's swings and roundabouts really.
'Laura Palmer' may have missed the top 40 but it did stall just outside for quite a few weeks which could explain why R1 kept it on so long (not wanting to drop it when it looked like it could still break into the top 40). 'Things We Lost In The Fire' wasn't kept on as long despite being a bigger hit so I don't think it was just a case of R1 bumming Bastille although that helps of course :P

Fantastic to see Clean Bandit and Gorgon City climbing the lists :cheer:. Great additions for Alesso/OneRepublic, Chris Malinchak, and DJ Fresh. :D

Shame that the excellent Hardwell is languishing on the C-list though. :(

Just noticed that Pitbull is still blisted even though its at no1, good stuff lol!!
Isn't it very rare that they bump stuff up after it's released though?

It's not the norm but I wouldn't say it's all that rare either - I guess it depends how well it does. If 'Timber' gets a second week at #1 then they might A-list it, but I doubt they'll bother.

The example i always remember is Atlas this year - it was blist from the start & after 5 weeks went into the alist!!

Radio 1 have never really been massive supporters of Pitbull. I'm sure Give Me Everything only got as high as the B list too. Alot of his other singles have been snubbed in the past.

Radio 1 made Timber their track of the day back in November - way before its release. So I'm rather surprised it's yet to be playlisted.

Although the track is clearly quite marmite and if it's played every hour, they might worry people will change their radio station.

1Xtra has A-listed Drunk in Love with XO, Maybe Radio 1 will playlist DIL next week.

You mean yet to be A-listed.

It's annoying that they even play it at all. Leave it for Capital.
