I was hoping tonight's episode would be just a Beale show, but I think it needed something else to break the ice, I think it was nicely done. When Ian and Peter left the pub, the setting just fell flat, with other people just looking on.

I think it'll be Ian throwing Cindy out, after "ruining" Lucy's memory by telling the police about her drug abuse.

The Tuesday evening, i felt like my family were the people going through the murder. It was so excellently presented to the public and executed to an extremely high standard it had me in floods of tears through the pure raw emotion of it all. Fantastic episode, soap episode of the year so far.

8.39m viewers for last night - 200k behind Alfie and Roxy's wedding from November 25.

I forgot to make comment on how such an obviously fake puppy was used when Phil was resuscitating it! That one shot in particular when it had it's legs in the air - it was actually hilarious!

Ha,, she is truly up the duff ;)

Peter's crying at the end was absolutely hilarious. Especially the very last sound he made, it sounded like the Chewbacca from star wars

Ha ha, that is quite similar!

I do think his acting was very good though, it was quite uncomfortable to watch because it was so moving.

The scenes all round were great, very heart wrenching and so well acted. EastEnders is back in the game once again.

Ok so Terry Spraggan is out! http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2/easte...aggan-role.html

Also there is a NEW casting going to be announced tonight! All we know is that it is an award winning actress and the character is not linked to the Carters. I'm going for Bev Williams, Cindy's Nan. Kinda fits with the whole storyline at the moment! And she can stick around for the Cindy Pregnancy storyline too!

I wonder where Ian really was! :o Cindy seems to know everyone's secret!

Also, major overreaction chucking her out. I don't see what's so weird about her holding Lucy's jumper. Loads of people do that when someone dies, to try and feel part of them/with them.

True but many people also don't want others touching belongings of a deceased person, also Ian seems to kind of blame Cindy for Lucy's death. It was an overreaction but only to be expected at a time like this. People won't be thinking logically.

After his overreaction throughout tonights episode, I do not like Ian anymore. I also thought that police woman could have been a bit more helpful / comforting
Another good episode! Cant wait to see what happens tomorrow! Sadly I will have to watch it on iPlayer as I'm at McBusted tomorrow night!

Pauline McClynn as Yvonne Cotton (Charlie Cottons Mum)

EastEnders: Father Ted star Pauline Mclynn joins show as Yvonne Cotton

EastEnders bosses have cast Father Ted actress Pauline Mclynn as newcomer Yvonne Cotton.

Yvonne is the mother of Dot Branning's grandson Charlie, who joined the BBC soap last month.

Viewers will see Yvonne make her first appearance on Albert Square in May when she pays a visit to Dot (June Brown).

She turns up in Walford after Dot makes a surprising discovery and starts to demand answers about Charlie (Declan Bennett).

A EastEnders statement teased: "Will Yvonne give Dot the answers she is looking for? And more importantly, is she all that she seems?"

Yvonne will be a recurring guest character for the programme and has already been tipped to make her mark on the Square.

McLynn commented: "It is a thrill to join EastEnders, my favourite soap, and in particular any chance to be part of a Dot Cotton storyline is not to be passed up. June Brown is a legend and I feel privileged to act with her."

EastEnders' executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins added: "I have always been a little in love with Pauline McLynn so I'm so excited that she's joining the Cotton family. It was about time Albert Square had another Irish character and I know that viewers are going to both love and be intrigued by Yvonne Cotton."

Mclynn has a number of previous acting credits but is best known for her roles as Mrs Doyle on Father Ted and Libby Croker in Shameless.
