January 25, 201411 yr I love how this has turned into a Union J thread :heehee: I do agree that one of the main problems with Union J is their promotion. I mean, I believe their main promo slot for 'Beautiful Life' was some crappy awards show that barely anybody watched.
January 25, 201411 yr The problem with UJ was their material. They had two average songs, nothing to entice me to buy their album or even want to DL it. Also why did the gay one look so gay on the album cover? JEEZ
January 26, 201411 yr I don't see anything wrong with the Wanted's image or their songs. Union J appear to be trying to model themselves on One Direction, which is not exactly a positive start if they can't come up with their own identity.

Union J appear to be trying to model themselves on One Direction, which is not exactly a positive start if they can't come up with their own identity. I hardly think so. I would think if they were trying to mould themselves into being a carbon copy of One Direction they would have gained a fraction more of the support than they actually did have with the album campaign. They are still trying to find their own identity - their music is far from being exactly the same as One Direction's, they just need something secure that the UK will latch onto properly and will get them a decent-sized hit single and a good selling album.
January 26, 201411 yr I think the thing that let The Wanted down was their cockiness. Ever since I saw an interview with them around the release of Lose My Mind I developed an instant dislike to them. I think the interview said something like so why did you release this single, and Jay said "So people will buy it and make us lots of money, which we want" :/
January 26, 201411 yr http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a54...e-us-apart.html I think this basically confirms that they've split up forever. It's confirmed that they were dropped and so I highly doubt they would get re-signed and it's not as though they were in it for the music anyway so they're not going to carry on releasing music without a label.
January 26, 201411 yr it's a shame, their run of singles were better songs and better productions, and much more consistent than some of the other boy bands. I seem to be alone in thinking Show Me Love was their best track and at the very least more ambitious than any 1D single (to date)....
January 26, 201411 yr I hope Nathan can get some sort of solo success - He has a really great voice and is probably the most likable from The Wanted IMO.

GOD HELP US if Max sets up a solo career; we've seen just about as much of him as we can take already. :drama: I think the rest of them would need the group to be able to work as artists.

January 26, 201411 yr Their debut single remains their best for me. The only one I liked at all was Heart Vacancy and that is at a push
January 26, 201411 yr 'Lose My Mind' was by far the best thing they did  Top 3 ~ 1. Lose My Mind 2. Warzone 3. Glad You Came (4. Show Me Love (America))
January 26, 201411 yr Just been looking at the link in one of the above posts and they look bloody awful; how old are they? 40.

January 27, 201411 yr Just been looking at the link in one of the above posts and they look bloody awful; how old are they? 40. You have a strange idea of what 40 year old people generally look like! Tom is 25 (Aug '88), Max is 25 (Sep '88), Siva is 25 (Nov '88), Jay is 23 (Jul '90) & Nathan is 20 (Apr '93).
January 27, 201411 yr Nathan actually strikes me as having the smallest ego of them all actually. If he has quite a big ego, I dread to think about the rest
January 27, 201411 yr I would agree Nathan is the one that seemed most down to earth. What i am surprised about is their is no mention of a Greatest Hits release.

They'd basically have to include every single. :kink: Although a decent EP track-list would be: 1. Show Me Love (America) 2. Lose My Mind 3. All Time Low 4. Warzone 5. Walks Like Rihanna 6. Glad You Came
