Will be interesting to see which way this one goes, but I'd like to think that Fleur has the edge after her performance of 'Uptown Funk'. Even her performance of 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' has been viewed more times than Andrea/Ben's two performances from the weekend. (Also I'm quite surprised that Fleur's 'All About That Bass' has that many views!)
December 11, 201410 yr I'd really like to see Ben come 3rd, with a top 2 of Fleur and Andrea, I do think a lot of people don't vote until the final and Andrea could get a few first time viewers votes maybe. But I guess it all depends on what songs performed, order, and who the special guests are as anything can change on the final night.
December 12, 201410 yr Thought I'd let people know that Fleur has entered the European Top 200 at #108 with Uptown Funk. It may not seem so high but some other big names that have entered much lower are: 125 - James Blunt - When I Find Love Again 168 - Olly Murs Featuring Demi Lovato - Up 175 - Nicki Minaj Featuring Skylar Grey - Bed Of Lies You can view this chart HERE Edited December 12, 201410 yr by euro music
December 14, 201410 yr Saturday's show was apparently the least watched finale in ten-years (since Steve Brookstein) with 8.4 million :manson:. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-30470600 The ITV talent show drew an average audience of 8.4 million, including those watching on catch up services. Only 2004 drew lower ratings, when 8.1 million watched Steve Brookstein become the first ever X Factor champion.
December 14, 201410 yr Christ, that's literally like The Voice level ratings!! Idgi, this series wasn't even that bad. Although tbf anything had to be a come-up from 2012 and 2013.
December 15, 201410 yr Very disappointing ratings. Will be interesting to see how many viewers they got tonight.
December 15, 201410 yr Very disappointing ratings. Will be interesting to see how many viewers they got tonight. It clashed with SPOTY tonight which I don't remember it doing before so that could hurt. However I can see people tuning in to see what was going on with Mel.
December 15, 201410 yr In all fairness, that's comparing the official audience figure for series 1 with the "overnight" figure for last night, so it'll more than likely increase in a week or so when the official figure's released, then it'd be easier to compare. The media is too quick to scrutinise the show's ratings.
December 15, 201410 yr An interesting thing to consider for X factor bosses for next year is the last 3 finals have been made up of Overs and Boys, no Girl or Band has made the final the last 3 years and even worse no band or girl has even topped the vote for one week in that whole time either.
December 15, 201410 yr I don't think that's in their hands though, if people aren't going to vote for girls or bands, then they won't make it to the finals (unless they ask the judges to save a girl over an over 25 or whatever it is next year in the bottom 2 e.g. Lauren and Andrea) Edited December 15, 201410 yr by NellyXmas. She actually proved to have a much more solid fanbase than Fleur in the voting.
December 15, 201410 yr Had there been a sing off in the semi, Lauren would have been in the final and quite probably beaten Fleur. I don't believe it to be a giant conspiracy to get her to win though, because that was a mountain surely nobody thought they could ever climb looking at the votes.
December 15, 201410 yr It pretty obvious now Lauren was treated as she was as she was the biggest threat to Fleur not making the top 2. They had managed to nuke Andrea and it worked but Lauren time and again was early in the running order, never really given a chance to shine or pimp slot and yet still did well in the vote. Probably Mel digging her heels in and them seeing Lauren as much more of a threat ensured Lauren was never going to make the final. I don't even like Lauren but looking at the vote stats I feel for her. She and Paul were both royally screwed over this year. Lauren seemed to even recognise this and it felt like she had given up a bit the last 2 weeks. Edited December 15, 201410 yr by sammy01

Yes but I think he clearly wanted her in the "showpiece" a bit like with Cher Lloyd a couple of years back. I actually think he got his ideal Top 2 although his preference to win would clearly have been Fleur.

December 15, 201410 yr The ratings are due to the piss-poor lineup of special guests, every week the performers are so similar, and so obvious. Also the themes are absolutely ridiculous and need getting rid of asap.
December 15, 201410 yr The ratings are due to the piss-poor lineup of special guests, every week the performers are so similar, and so obvious. Also the themes are absolutely ridiculous and need getting rid of asap. I agree, the themes have been so boring this year, as for the line up, do they not realize how bored we are of the typical One Direction, Olly Murs, etc. performances? Also the amount of Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith on this years show bored me too...
December 15, 201410 yr The themes really do need to be scrapped. :( I've got no issue with the guest performers at all, all the performers made sense each week (although they could've been a bit more inspired for the final)
