Everyone I know knows about this, which is impressive as only the big female releases of interest such as Roar or Wrecking Ball get talked about in the groups I hang out with, and even then that's almost all negative. There seems to be a genuine amount of positivity surrounding this song.

I'm sorry but as far as I'm concerned 'Bounce' is the only decent thing she has done. (although 'Work' is okay I suppose)

 

 

Well, this is not going to launch the album off in style. Love the first 3 singles but I'm not keen on this, even though the chorus is delightfully Gwen-ish.

 

 

This is terrible compared to the divine first three singles :(. So gutted, but half expected it.

 

The initial HATE for this jam is just crazy?! I liked it from the very beginning.

 

Of course... That grew into LOVE.

 

I didn't mind it from the beginning, although I REALLY did not like the chorus.

I didn't *hate* it at the start, was just very underwhelmed. It really really grew though, is one of my songs of the year <3

 

Bounce was the only single of hers I found particularly instant anyway ~

As well as the song being a grower in general, I think the video was the main reason it has become so successful. The 'Clueless' theme was a talking-point for its nostalgia value and caused the song to reach a much wider audience through it being shared on social media etc. I was definitely guilty of thinking it was a misstep as the album's lead single when I first heard the audio but the video's replayability helped it grow.

I really liked this to start with, but it was such a grower too! It wasn't as instant as any of her previous singles but I think this pretty much equal with Bounce as her best single now :wub: The video is one of my favourites in a long time as well.

She now holds 2 of the top 3 positions on the Hot 100!
