So far this month we have vetoed:

Trust - Icabod

MØ - Say You'll Be There

5 Seconds Of Summer - She Looks So Perfect

Kyla La Grange - Cut Your Teeth

Kiesza - Hideaway

Allie X - Catch

Annie feat. Bjarne Melgaard - Russian Kiss

There is one more that I'm just making sure we communicated before I announce it. We're not done yet either.

We requested that the entrant change the following song, not due to the veto but due to it's ESC links:

Donatan and Cleo - My Słowianie

---

Looking like a record breaker for the number of Vetoed tracks.

i always told myself as soon as new trust material came out that wasn't a single i would try it cos i love him so much, shouldn't have too worry 2 much in future

Who SERIOUSLY sent 5 Seconds of Summer?! (though I'm not sure it would even qualify if it got through funnily enough!)

I really think the covers rule could do with a review - obviously straight up covers being banned should be the case, but if something's barely a thing like the original version sent it doesn't really make much sense for it to be auto-vetoed, particularly if it's something from a contest all of about three/four people still participating took part in. Obviously it'd be in a points category where it'd be up for veto discussion, but it seems a shame that Jake's entry got a veto given it's nowhere near as cheap as it looks.

I don't think covers are auto-vetoed anymore. I remember quite recently Sandra van Nieuwland was entered with a cover of 'More' by Usher and I have a feeling there's been a couple of others too.

Although the fact that the original of 'Say You'll Be There' has already been entered into BJSC might make this a different case and probably the rule you are referring to so ignore me! :kink:

Yeah, I was on about covers of songs already entered.

Changed my entry. It's now the Lord's Prayer in Swahili.

If this is the standard for bjsc how is it any different to up really?

Even though this song won't be in ESC?...

Someone actually tried to send 5SOS

Why can't everyone be as inspired as Danaelanda? :( We've never been vetoed. Ever.

And never finished Top 10. Ever.

And never finished Top 10. Ever.

So what? We're actually proud of ourselves for being the highest scoring country to never have a top 10 to their name.

Sorry, there's no award for 'not trying hard enough' :(

Totes me that submitted 5SOS, I don't listen to the radio, or follow many blogs, so had no Idea it was popular.

I guess it's up to my backup

Lorde's pretty unknown, right?

I'm SUCH a mess this contest. I wouldn't be surprised if I missed this edition because I have nothing fresh which I really LOVE to send. And all kinds of shock value entries (white noise, variation of of birds, drag queens, classical piece, maxine swaby, the song with my OWN VOCALS) have been entered by me already so I'm literally out of options. :(

If I don't enter, the official reason is obviously to make a stand against the wildly pro-Putin moderators, namely Silas, Cal, Jahq and Oricon.

We judged that the MØ track wasn't different enough from the original and it's not just the fact the original was entered into the first BJSC (we know the # of members taking part then and now is very small) but the original is incredibly well known - it's the Spice Girls! MØ has been entered three times (and veto'd once or twice recently too) before and this was a fresh song already appearing on Pitchfork, DigitalSpy, MTV and NME (I even saw one of the Spice Girls tweeting it) so there was no doubt it was going whether we threw it out on grounds of sounding too similar to the original or not.
