It's weird to think of 'Salute' as the second post-album single because everything about it screams first/lead single. It's very introductory in nature (what with being track one on the same-named album :P) and is a statement up-tempo song with a huge chorus encapsulating the group's heavily-marketed female empowerment shtick. It's the kind of song created to only be a lead single. Not that I'm complaining, but it was interesting and somewhat brave that the label went with 'Move' instead. If they wanted to show a different side to them and gain some crossover fans, it turned out to be a clever strategy. I do think 'Salute' will do well as the third single however, especially with a great video, and should lend itself nicely to album sales. They've done well to keep their momentum into this year (I'd class 'Word Up' as a success publicity-wise) so it'd be great to see them attain another platinum album.

It sounds like nothing else in the chart and seems constructed in an irregular way to everything else in the chart, which would result in the song being outside of comfort zones of what the record buying public typically indulge in and thus will get lost as a standalone single.

 

I'd like to be proved wrong.

Something like Nothing Feels Like You would work much better.

You could be right, but I think they will gather quite a lot of airplay with this because it's kinda different, they're Little Mix and this is a favourite amongst their fans.

 

I think this'll do just fine, especially if they have some promo and a good video lined up

But then I guess their arms are getting progressively more bent from left to right, which is something. Doubt that was intentional though. And then there's Jessie's hand. And Jade's ridiculously positioned wrist. My OCD can only tolerate so much :mellow:.

It's the track that's in and out of the top 1500 on iTunes, so it must strike some sort of chord with the casual buyers. I'm sure the hardcore fanbase already have their copy with the album, so wouldn't need to invest in that version much more to keep it from appearing inside the top 1500, worldwide. I'm not sure I quite get your point Griff :(

I'm pretty sure that's just a fan-made cover, given that they're wearing the same clothes as in the 'Move' vid.

Is this a confirmed cover because that's just a picture taken from the Move video shoot? Although the 'Little Me' cover wasn't an original photo either, so I guess it's not a huge surprise. Lazy though, if it is official.

The video looks very dark, but I remember the Move pictures and being disappointed but loving the full thing, so hoping this is the same.

Found this fanmade cover on twitter and think it's amazing! Credit to the owner, I'm not sure who that is but whoever you are you did an incredible job! I'd so love the video to mirror this.
