5.4k for the #1 album is appalling. She definitely won't keep the #1 by Sunday, it'll go to either Ellie Goulding or London Grammar depending on if they win any BRIT awards (and Ellie is VERY likely to so I think #1 will be hers)

Ellie Goulding is performing as well so I'm quite confident she'll take the #1 spot.

I think the #1 album might throw a few surprises, I'm toying with the Arctic Monkeys since they are opening the show. There are other few contenders though from Ellie, Bastille, Rudimental, John Newman and probably London Grammar, its really wide open.

True, but I was just thinking that because she is selling better than most albums currently, she won't need as much of a boost whereas those other artists would. Last year's #1 on BRITS week was Emeli Sande and she had been high in the charts in previous weeks.

Not to say that I wouldn't welcome a return to number one for any other artists, especially London Grammar who never made #1 in the first place.

Peroxide is still No1 today on the chart update... Please keep telling your friends and family about the album

It's not really shocking as he's top 40 on iTunes but I guess it is a shock he's doing so well with a 2nd release from the same album unlike his previous 2 albums anyway.

Edited by Rob!

John Newman back at #33. Ew.

TEEEGAN and Sara, Jamz

Hopefully, this will help them get playlisted in the future. (probably not)

Today's show is full of unbelievably awful songs. I've switched off.

'Everything Is Awesome' and 'Fame and TV' are really awful. Especially the latter. The lyric 'now everybody's just party rocking' couldn't be more dated if it tried, that stopped being popular ages ago.

Surprised to see A Great Big World still at #2, I still think CB and Pharrell will overtake it by Sunday.

Ideally James Blunt will stay top 40 with heart to heart. The success of his album slightly amazes me, who would ever thought that when himself and Katy Perry released at the same time that he would be on par with the same sales and the album is still doing well, great turn around for him.

Ouch ouch ouch at that horrible drop of 16 places for Gary Barlow. I do hope he can get back into the top 20 by Sunday.

I was thinking more the fact radio 1 are actually playing it lol!

I still find it strange that the sales thread said "the third week in a row a fanbase act secures pole position on the chart" about Katy B, clearly not, or she would have plummeted to #18, staying at 2 is very respectable.

Yeah I def wouldn't describe Katy as a fanbase act esp after radio 2 even playlisted CFNR!

Sophie out of the top 40 in the albums.

I find this a bit bizarre. 4 weeks in the top 20 and then straight out of the top 40, pre-BRITS boosts at that? Maybe her sales were very reliant on the single getting radio play or something. Having said that, a month ago I would have been impressed if she managed 2 weeks top 40 so it's not to say she hasn't done extremely well.

any big new single releases next week that are expected to go to #1? I know Ellies new song is coming out. Is that looking likely to be a #1 contender?

That will be lucky to reach the top 20.

lol ^so even w/ the tons of new releases there's nothing that's a #1 contender?
