Ronan The Accuser would have been much better used in a Captain Marvel/ Ms Marvel movie :( boo. Never bothered with the Guardians anyway.

Edit: Chris Pratt's abs. Omg.

When this was announced, I thought that Marvel might have been pushing their luck a bit as it didn't appear to be very accessible to the mass public. However, after seeing the trailer, I do have more hope that it will do better than I initially thought. I still don't see it being a big hit though, most likely a moderate one.

This was absolutely BRILLIANT. Definitely deserving of all the high praise. The chemistry between the the main cast is fantastic and it's SUCH a BIG blockbuster in every sense of the word. Those who like the Marvel films (most notably 'Thor 2' & 'Captain America 2') and who liked the new X Men film should be wetting themselves over this. It's one emotional, fun, big and enjoyable blockbuster. It had EVERYTHING.

It's currently joint 3rd in my films of 2014 list (behind 'Captain America 2' & 'X Men: Days Of Future Past') but it's giving them a damn good run for their money! I can't pick a favourite between this or 'Planet of the Apes' right now, but so far I'm edging to this...

Without a doubt worth the watch for any comic book to film fan & any sci-fi fans too!

OMG, this was brilliant, its probably ranked 3rd in the Marvel films released, Captain America 2, X Men: First Class. Its got a great cast, great soundtrack, Karen Gillan was just plain excellent kicking some arse and playing a different role. The only drawback for me, Racoon stole the whole show, the voice of Bradley Cooper was just excellent though, and the laughable one liners.

I've never read the comic book series, so I just went in blind, but to be honest it doesn't really matter I enjoyed the whole concept of it. My favourite movie of the year is Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, but this is probably coming joint first. I can't wait for the sequel, the only available window for the next one seems to be 2017 for the sequel, which would tie it well with 3 years apart.

2015 The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Ant-Man, The Fantastic Four Four Reboot

2016 Captain America 3, Superman 2, The Amazing Spider Man 3, X Men Apocalypse

2017 Wolverine 2, The Fantastic Four 2, Thor 3 (???), Deadpool (if it ever gets of the ground)

Marvel are planning 7 Marvel movies before Phase 3

Are you not leaving off Ant Man from that list? :P and Superman is DC

Anyway, never been a fan of this comic series, so will likely give it a miss. Although I have heard rumours of the sequel being called War of Kings, which worries me.

That was a major event and one that started off in the X-men comics, so I guess if they go ahead, it'll be majorly condensed and ruined :(

I know... I just included all the comic book movies out that year.

Was that list just planned to be of all the upcoming superhero movies as the bolded ones are the only ones that are actually part of the Marvel 'Cinematic Universe' :P The Spiderman film series is owned by Sony, Fantastic Four and X-Men film rights are owned by Fox so aren't connected in any way. Superman is DC Comics as well.

EDIT: Posted that as the same time as above

There's also the Doctor Strange film in 2016 which is part of Phase 3.

Enjoyed the film, Chris Pratt is fab as a new likeable amusing leading man, hard to believe he's hunked up from TV roles but that look fits like a glove. Karen Gillan is great, hard to recognise her, but she makes a great baddie, Bradley Cooper gives his raccoon gusto and is engaging, Vin Diesel amusing. Cameos really from Glenn Close and Peter Serafinowicz most welcome (but far too brief), Zoe Saldana OK though prefer her as Uhura. The special effects are amazing, throughout, really and I loved the mix of future sci-fi fantasy with 70's and 80's hits (mostly American-only hits) as plenty of them never were hits in the UK so it's nice to see unusual oldies like Blue Swede, Redbone and Elvin Bishop sounding great (former popchartfreak hits back in the day).

On the downside, for once I felt the film wasn't long enough for the script plot-wise, too much crammed in and too many alien worlds and names and baddies which required a bit of comic knowledge, really it could have done with re-writing and slimming down some of the (fairly obvious) settings-up for the sequel, which were superfluous to the main plot. Not up to Cap America or XMen but enjoyable. If the sequel can just get on with the plot (presumably involving Starlord's alien daddy) it'll be a more cohesive film.

As others have said, it was a little hard to follow in places for those who don't know the characters/worlds from the comics. And I can't help but feel that it suffered slightly from not being quite grounded enough - everything seemed a little hasty with the only human character not having been on Earth for decades.

Otherwise great though, Bradley Cooper stole the show.

Really enjoyed this! I wasn't expecting there to be as much "comedy" as there was but it actually felt like the right balance.

The acting was pretty good as well.

Looking forward to the sequel and also may have to start watching a lot of the other Marvel films!

This film is really good. Maybe not as good as the Avengers but certainly better than the rest of the Marvel films.

But the after credit scene made this film.

"Guardians of the Galaxy" is based on the Marvel Universe. It is the tenth adaptation superhero comic to the big screen after many successful blockbusters (Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Avengers). I had seen the official trailer several months ago and I felt that it would be different from other superhero movies we've seen at times. Although I was so late to watch it, there was no way to miss this movie on the big screen. I aways enjoy these kinds of movies even though I have never read comics. Maybe a couple of times but I'm not sure. In hindsight, I made a wise choice, as the "Guardians of the Galaxy" offers plenty of laughs and it's the most exciting movie I've seen this year (so far)!!

James Gunn is the director and did a great job as "Guardians of the Galaxy" had impressive visual effects and the vibrant colors literally opened the eyes (especially shots containing galaxies). Apart from the visual part of the film, Gunn wrote the script with Nicole Perlman. It is the first time that Marvel trust the script to a woman. However, she had a very good cooperation with James Gunn and we realised this from the amazing result. Both of them having been born in the decade of the 70s, they really wanted to accompany the story with sounds of musicians and bands of the 60's and 70's! They combined very apt the rock sounds with the time and space and of course, the superheroes. The film had very good sound effects and good cinematography. The dialogues were very funny and the plot was enjoyable. The fact that the total length was no more than two hours, didn't tire us at all. However, the time passed without sense it. However, the characters were those who literally stole the show and the cast consists of well known names (Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Benicio del Toro). The protagonists of the film were convincing in the roles they played, and that seems to be the most entertaining by what we saw. Chris Pratt's character was so funny and finally Disney began to trust the leading roles to actors we don't see very often on the big screen. On the other hand, Zoe Saldana, maybe is one of the most successful actress of her generation because she already has been involved in some of the biggest blockbuster of our times (Avatar, Star Trek, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl). It is interesting to think that she played Britney's best friend in “Crossroads”. What a shame.

"Guardians of the Galaxy" is by far the most commercial movie at the Box Office for this year (so far)! It is the only movie that has exceeded $300 million in revenue! It has a total of $645 million worldwide, generating nearly quadruple earnings considering the budget !!! It has received a very high average on IMDb (8,6). This means that the people who watched it, loved it very much. Personally I'd give it a higher score, since I found it incredibly entertaining. I liked all the characters and I very much appreciated the fact that it emphasized the value of friendship..
