They won't produce more good music if they get dropped because of no one being able to relate with them!
Isn't it the case in most of today's pop music? Image is just as important as the music put out, if not more important

You may well be right, but it's kind of what appeals to me so much about them. Girlbands and boybands are just constantly thrown at you as '4 individuals put together' these days, and as nice as that is, I find it quite refreshing to see Neon Jungle just marketed as a band. I'm not sure that the general public will care so much for these reasons, but it certainly appeals to me and makes them feel a bit maturer.

Okay I agree that Neon Jungle do seem to be producing some bangers lately and are showing great promise to be a sustainable girl group, but disparaging other groups, especially one like The Saturdays for instance, a group who have to date sold around 4.5 million singles and have 13 Top Ten Hits to their name thus far, is wrong. They came along in a girl band drought and picked up where Girls Aloud left off, 6 years down the line, acts such as JLS, Eliza DooLittle and countless other girl bands have come and gone and they're still here with a hard core fan base and yet another radio playlisted single soon to impact the high end of the Top 40.

Comparing the two bands just can't be done at the stage of their careers, Neon Jungle haven't even solidified their places within today's music scene yet, hardly any body knows who they are, they just know "that song Braveheart by that girl band" and there's not even a release date for their first album. While I admit that Welcome to the Jungle does sound like it's going to be huge, they still have only one 'moderate' hit to their names, I say moderate as it is yet to even be certified. Obviously I really wish the best for these girls and so desperately want them to go on and have a long, successful career, but you just can't predict what the future will be like for them, I mean everyone thought that Stooshe were the new 'it girl group' after Black Heart did so well and then it all went tits up after the third single.

Having faith and loyalty to your favourite band is one thing. Mocking other respectable acts and being arrogant is another. Don't get me wrong i LOVE Neon Jungle and think they have a great image/style/sound and should appeal to a lot of people, but for now they're on new soil, it's the beginning of the career, one slight mishap from them could mean the end. They're lucky they even got a second single, I mean some people had written them off after Trouble.

Anyway... WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE TO SMASH PLEASE

Did we ever have a Parade fanbase on here?

If you just mean the UK, I don't think they've actually hit 3.5 million singles here yet!

Oops that meant to say records not just singles, and anyway that wasn't the point of the post.

I also think it takes time to build that identity and fanbase. Were the sats not in the same place with the same issues three singles in. The spices used a very unique model that you can't reciprocate so easily.

With each release neon jungle are pulling in more fans. An upward trajectory is only a good thing. Their label know what they are doing and it's great. I can see wttj being bigger than 'braveheart' in all honesty. So great to have a group doing fashion-forward pop and making it so exciting.

They weren't.

I am really not understanding why so many people on here into this group. I get the appeal of the Saturdays. This all seems so gimmicky and flash in the pan though...

The Saturdays weren't really known individually for a while (I mean by the general public rather than their early fan base). There was a bit of an "oh, it's two girls from S Club Juniors" and "it's that girl group where each member wears a different colour" response to them in the early stages of their career.

I don't know who Neon Jungle are individually at all, i.e. I couldn't name them and I don't know what they're like as personalities, but that doesn't bother me. It's all about the music as far as I'm concerned, which I find fresh and exciting. I thought the first single was fun (if a bit throwaway), but the second and third singles are seriously fantastic.

COULD NOT AGREE ANYMORE! Amen.

When compared to other new girl groups that have been and gone like Parade, Girls Can't Catch, Soundgirl just to name a few, Neon Jungle have actually clicked with me, they're all the same age as me, their music is enjoyable, and they are all very good singers. So I do hope they are around for the long run, it's nice to have a fresh girl group on the market, they're completely different to both Little Mix and The Saturdays which I like. ^_^

They weren't.

Id argue they are pretty faceless now other than to a bunch of internet gays.

None of them have particularly strong personalities.

They are doing something good if they can get ppl talking now. Let's see where were at by single 6. To me they are one of the most exciting forces in pop atm

I only knew The Saturdays individually pretty much straight away because I obsessed over them! You have to remember Neon Jungle are only on the brink of releasing their third single and establishing an identity takes time unless you're a huge megastar band like Spice Girls or One Direction. But I agree with whoever said a lack of distinctive identities between members makes the group seem more mature, for some reason that just reminds me of when bands were marketed for dolls etc. so each one had a unique style about them. It feels like a band is marketed for kids and teens that way.
I agree. The Saturdays and Spice Girls were clearly marketed so that they could be differentiated as individual members (the whole baby, ginger thing / the coloured outfits for the Sats etc), and then with Girls Aloud and Little Mix they came from reality shows and so already established themselves through that way. These are not being marketed in the same way at all. They've just exploded onto the scene with stellar pop tunes which are doing the talking, and their identity comes second. It's a refreshing way to introduce a new girl group in all honesty, throwing out all the formulas for how we "should" view them.

You've got to take into account as well that with major bands such as Spice Girls and One Direction, they are massive individual personalities who are constantly splattered across The Sun, on most news websites, etc; and that will obviously play a major part in how "faceless" or not a band is. I don't think Neon Jungle keeping themselves to themselves and not causing the next tabloid explosion makes them particularly "faceless" or non-interesting.

I don't know their names, ages or addresses myself. But that's because I've not exactly invested a lot of time into them. The musical output is fantastic though!

I didn't take to the Saturdays until after their first campaign was over, but their whole first campaign had the individual colour trend and I think it was quite clear what there image was and who they were marketing. I have no idea who Neon Jungle are actually marketing and what their image is. That will probably work in their favour though when trying to get plays on radio but I will be very surprised if they do any better with their album than The Saturdays have lately. From their output so far I can't see anything to give them longevity and have to say I preferred acts like Mini Viva and StooShe who were more successful at this point. But you never know what they might have under their sleeves to break it in big time.
Wait, Mini Viva were more successful than Neon Jungle at this point? I loved Mini Viva but their 2nd single completely bombed, did it not?
To be fair I have a pretty hazy memory of that time and I can remember Frankie and Rochelle from S Club Juniors at that time.
