Capital playlists go into effect pretty much straight away don't they? If so, even if NGU gets minimal plays, it's got a decent amount of time to build up some recognition with the public.

I hate Capital, but it's a necessary evil in this case.

Just waiting for them to announce that promo on Sports Relief, The Voice and Alan Carr now. :P

Yay! That's fantastic news :cheer:

Now I hope they start hammering it!

It's funny/sad/odd/interesting that they've playlisted a Saturdays song out in 3 and a half weeks but haven't playlisted the new Little Mix song out in 3 days...

Most of the April 6th releases have been playlisted by Radio 1 so if they indeed intend not to snub the girls, they should be playlisted next week as some of the songs on the C-list will be upgraded to the B-list, thus making more place on the C-list.

To be honest, I really don't believe these girls will ever be snubbed. They don't buy airplay so they don't have any reasons to piss off any radio stations. They are kinda just there. They aren't loved, but they aren't hated either. They have a certain profile, so the radios play their songs a bit and then leave'em because they have done their job. It's very sad because they absolutely need (better) airplay, but at the end of the day, it might be for the best.

I think they will get snubbed by radio 1 at some point. Radio 1 are incredibly ageist, particularly with women. It will be good if you're correct about next week's R1 play-listing though. They still have the possibility of being B-listed before the actual release which would be at least better than Disco Love. :)

Erm...Four of them are aged between 24 and 26, the fifth is 32.

I feel like I'm doing more work than the girls. Not really, but there's a show called #IWANT on Capital TV, where there are four songs to be chosen from, and you vote for which one you want to hear on Twitter and the one with the most votes gets played. But, nobody had chosen it for 90 MINUTES, so I got it played x

nice story for you there which i thought you'd appreciate

It's not the girls that are 'old'. It's how long The Saturdays have been around. The Vamps, Neon Jungle, One Direction and Little Mix target the kids and teenage girls that listen to Capital and buy records. The Saturdays were like that but are now a Mum's and Gay's girl group, which isn't relevant to radio.

Yes, there are some, but there are very few UK pop artists that R1 have stuck with for 5+ years.

They are ageist with women over the age of 40, they're already halfway through their careers si U don't think that's a big worry atm :D The only worry is that if they fall out of love with them :S

I'm not gay and neither are my schoolmates but most of them like the saturdays just simply because they look nice, have amazing songs and are fine as hell! Unless they suddenly age 20 years and become obese with awful voices, I don't think straights will fall out of love with them :)

As if there are two straight male fans of The Saturdays, who like them for more than there looks.

Such generalisation....

I really hate that Gays like girls for their music, straight only go for looks thinking
