Molly would be the BEST winner since DAME HARLOT (aka. the best EVER winner) if she wins, but she won't. Sanna would be too, but I also don't think she will win either.
I didnt know uk was hated? I know some british people THINK Europe hates UK, but we really dont. Send something good, and you will see that UK will win again.

Scooch had the best song and the best perfomance in 2007, but came last.

Why I think, that UK is underrated ?

It's mostly for 60s, 70s, early 80s. In the most those years UK was two heads above any another contenders (Best samples : Cliff Richard, Lynsey & Mike, Sweet Dreams), but finished behind bad (or not good) songs. United Kingdom deserved 12-15 wins, not 5.

How great "The Bad Old Days" was 11th and awful "A-Ba-Ni-Bi" won in 1978 ? Maybe best UK entry "I'm Never Giving Up" was 6th behind "Khay" :puke2: and "Dzuli" :nono:

There is many another samples, when UK was underrated : Bardo on the 7th place behind "Hora", 10th place for "A Message to Your Heart" (behind "Kan", "Lusitana paixao"and Amina :puke2:), e.t.c.

Not sure that a song you love not doing as well as you think it should have done means they are underrated as a country in Eurovision. Success and quality are not always linked so neatly. The UK rightfully receives scathing reviews when they send shit (Scooch, Josh, Andy), or send past it acts (Bonnie, Englebert) and then get love when they send good stuff (Blue, Jade, Molly). Seems pretty fair to me.

1. Excuse me, do you really think that Scooch was worse than Verka ? :o If Sweden sent Scooch it would be top 5 result.

2. Eurovision results must be based on SONGS and VOCALS, not about perfomances or the age of artist. Englebert is a great singer, he sold millions records. Loreen is nobody in compare with him. :)

3. Wny you didn't put Josh in one category with Jade and Blue ? If "Popular" could be in top 3, that "The Sounds Is Good To Me" also deserved the similar result.

Ok, taking those in order:

1) Yes. If Sweden send shit, they do badly, the thing is the majority of the time they send very professional, catchy, well produced pop music which rightfully finds an audience. Flying The Flag panders to the outdated notion the Eurovision is just about a cheesy novelty pop song and it falls on the wrong side of 'humour' to really work.

2) Eurovision voting should be based on whatever metric people want to base it on. I'd like to think the song would be paramount, but it might not be for some and that's fine.

3) Popular is a professional, catchy, well produced pop song performed by someone with pretty great stage presence. That Sounds Good To Me is a cheap knock off of a sound that was dated 2 DECADES ago, sung by someone with zero charisma and all in all an embarrassing lesson in how NOT to do Eurovision.

Exactly. And they ARE. Not so much on vocals though, to be honest. Oh, Engelbert's song was good? Must've missed the memo. As did the entire f***ing Europe.

You're contradicting yourself here. Eurovision results must be about songs or artist's (ANCIEEEEEEENNNNNNNTTTTTTT (Madonna's-va-jay-jay-ANCIENT)) history in the end?? Make up yo mind g0rl

* = Will Rise, as they're still in heavy rotation for me.

Also take any song from 2012's Melodifestivalen with a grain of salt, I didn't heavily scrobble plays last year from them - OOP.

Wish I could go further, but apparently Last.fm only gives your top 500 songs.

In all reality - The actual top 6 songs are my OVERALL top 6 songs of all time.

Some commentary - Love seeing Eric Saade at the top, but I actually prefer "Stay The Night" over "Popular" any day.

"Headlines" for me is quite weak, but Alcazar benefitted from it being in heavy rotation for me in a weak point of time for music.

NO SHOCK WITH LOREEN BEING IN THE TOP 5. Same with Mrs. Perrelli - considering 2009 was the first year I actually got hooked on Melodifestivalen.

Shocked to see Ola in the Top 10 as well, since I haven't listened to "Unstoppable" in almost a year *TURNS IT ON NOW*

"Human Frontier" from Neo got me addicted to him - love the album that this resulted in.

And yes, I do love Sean Banan. I thought Cocacabanana last year was fantastic... *hides head in shame*

Sara Lumholdt wins the A*Teens battle. "Enemy" for me was way better than "Salt and Pepper" and "Disconnect Me".

Amazing seeing Sanna Nielsen already almost going to crack the Top 20 Melodifestivalen tracks for me.

H.E.A.T and Dynazty - I love Melodifestivalen hairbands. I'm shocked to not see E-Type's "Line Of Fire" in my top TBH.

And can we all just admit that Janet Leon was robbed this year - I f***ing love "Hollow" - but her performance was shit.. so.. i don't know.

REHEARSAL.

Ugh - we get "Undo My Sad Love" doe.

Do not want Sad Love.

Just Undo my sad.

Her background singers are going to lose the competition for her.

They're not even close to complementing her voice, and at points completely overtook her tone.

Shame.

...the backing singers are totally in harmony with her there?

ASIDE: SLAYNA! *.*

Interested to hear how people think Ace Wilder would have done now. I'm quite sure she wouldn't have beaten Austria and The Netherlands looking at the general makeup of the results, and the songs that were doing well this year. I actually now think she also probably would have finished 3rd, and that actually Sanna was a great Eurovision choice (even if Busy Doin' Nothin' is an obvious global smash with a push).

Ace is just one of a few things I'm prepared to eat humble pie on this year. :P

No way do I think she could've cracked that top 2 so Sweden made the right decision. Thinking she'd have also finished 3rd is more confidence than I have following last night!

The funny thing is that I couldn't even care that much about Sweden coming top three again. I mean I'm pleased for them getting that consistency (3 in 4 years *.*) but I'm more elated for Sanna herself.

I've invested so much time in her as an artist over the past decade, she's one of my favourite singers and you can tell that Eurovision means everything to her, and she'll be so humbled by this finish. I hope we see her in Melodifestivalen again but I'm not sure where she can go next. She's never going to be a Eurovision winner but I get the feeling that this result will be enough for her and she'll be happy now just to trundle along as a Swedish icon.

I'm not so sure Rich. Watching her last night in the Green Room every time Austria got 12 points, or she got 12 points, you could just tell she was on cloud 9. I honestly think she'll be back, not to win ESC but because you can just tell she adores the contest so very much.

Sanna only bagged herself a UK top 40!

Fourth Melodifestivalen winner in a row to make the UK top 100 too, shows that if they were properly promoted here outside of the contest they could be huge hits.

:w00t: Yay at Sanna getting that Top 40 smash!! As above though more promotion would result in hits for some of the amazing music that comes out of Sweden!

Best result for my # 1 favourite in UK charts after Scooch. :cheer:

If don't count British entries we must came back in 1974, when ABBA won.

P.S : "A Little Peace" and "Satellite" were second in my rates.

Never thought we'd see Sanna in the UK top 40  So so pleased for her, Undo is probably my favourite song of the year so far too. I didn't expect the song to make it but I'm really glad it just held on!
