I think 'The Man' is an easy #1 and will probably become one of the biggest songs of the year. It sounds like a proper hit single to me.

I agree, big universal appeal, like 'Happy' (But better than Happy). Heart, R2, R1 & Capital will all be playing it. I think it'll even give Sigma a run for their money in it's second week.

One half of Plastik Funk from 'Dr. Who!' is Japanese - must be a while since the last time a Japanese act featured in the top 40? The last time I'm aware of would be the #40 re-entry of Yoko Ono with 'Happy Xmas (War Is Over)' in 2007 and the last new top 40 hit by a Japanese act may go as far back as 2004 with The 5.6.7.8's' 'Woo Hoo' (a #28 hit) unless I'm forgetting anything! ('Dr. Who!' is quite the interesting mix of nationalities - Tujamo is German, Plastik Funk are half Spanish half Japanese and Sneakbo is British).

67. Chris Brown - Loyal (East Coast Version) [feat. Lil Wayne & French Montana]

122. Lady Gaga - G.U.Y.

Both these songs are benefitting from recent music video releases.

Loyal is Chris's poppiest single in a while imo, but probably won't be able to replicate Show Me's success.

Great to see Human holding up steadily. Still a bit annoyed that it didn't go top 10 but oh well. Hopefully it can be a long running top 40 regardless.

Whoever has bought that monstrosity from Kirk Norcross deserves to be hunted down and made to do something for charity (I hope no-one on here has bought this!!)

Doesn't deserve to be at 72, more like 472

Glad to see Faul and Martin Garrix holding up well, it will help heal the wrongs of 5SOS getting to number one I just hope it will be a one week wonder!

It's holding up so well! I hope it can keep it up like her past form and that the song can get general recognition as well.

Only two weeks ago actually! Well not a Japanese act but Asami from Neon Jungle is half-Japanese/born in Japan. I only know because I looked them up when I heard 'ichi, ni, san...' (1,2,3 in Japanese) in 'Braveheart' :P.

Is Miss Gaga really benefiting from that? I don't think so.

Is she still relevant these days?

Ah, I suppose you do have to count that if you count the Japanese member of Plastik Funk :kink: I didn't know she was actually born in Japan though, learn something new every day ~

Still must be the 'most' Japanese act proportionally to make the top 40 since Yoko Ono

I'd say just, but she's really screwed things up for herself quite a lot and she soon won't be if she keeps that up.

It seems like the 59p batches have been removed from iTunes - there's not been a 59p batch on iTunes in over 4 weeks now and it's not been listed under the music section for 2 weeks now.

44. Pixie Lott - Nasty [been increased to 99p] 2 Weeks top 40 - OUCH.

*Nigerian -_-

He's got three Nigerian names, a bit similar to Tinie Tempah.

Any sign of compass by Sam Bailey,or i have totally missed it through my blindness
Duke's built up a 20% lead now (almost). I can't see him not being number 1 this weekend, even if it does take him until the end of the week to overtake 5SOS's probably big lead.
Ooh nice for Hozier, climbing without any sort of promo whatsoever, could somebody big please playlist it now? Cheers!
