March 30, 201412 yr Great for Sam! Obviously aided by Mother's Day but the buzz around it seemed so minimal that I thought she'd struggle to clear 35-40k!
March 30, 201412 yr Sam Bailey outdoing Pharrell's first week album sales  OMG I can't  Pharrell will easily outsell her in the long term anyway though
March 30, 201412 yr How the hell did Sam clear 73k?! :o Glad for the high sales, even if it's a totally uninspired album they're coming from. Edited March 30, 201412 yr by Chez Wombat
March 30, 201412 yr All Of Me  Had loads of requests for this when out DJing the other day :lol:Really, a piano ballad? Or did you play one of the remixes?
March 30, 201412 yr Good to see sales at the top end of the albums getting better, but there's nothing out this week, so sales could drop again over the next few weeks.

So glad I did decide to prepare that Everly Brothers album despite it not being top 40 in the midweeks - it was #41 on Friday according to a certain dickie bird and I figured it'd get a lift from Mother's Day sales at the end of the week  Magnum grabbing a first top 40 album since 1992 by the skin of their teeth! Unfortunately Joe Bonamassa has missed the top 40 :( But I'm sure he'll be back with another new album in about 3 weeks so :cheer:

March 30, 201412 yr Really, a piano ballad? Or did you play one of the remixes? As it was a private mobile disco I played the normal radio version. Had it been a club I would of played the Tiesto remix. It filled the dancefloor though, so everyone was happy with it. :P Route 94  Such a great track!
March 30, 201412 yr MCR going out on a seven year low :( I thought they'd had more top ten albums than that. Changes held on to #3 :cheer:
March 30, 201412 yr 'My Love'  Best song in the top 40. I know it's a bit early to start predicting but I have a feeling that Route 94 will be a one hit wonder :( Hope not, keep up the good tunes please
March 30, 201412 yr The Power Of Love has sold nearly 73,000 copies over the last seven days. It has also become the fastest selling artist album of 2014 so far, beating current record holder Pharrell Williams’ opening week tally of 69,000 for his latest album G I R L. And over the course of the next few weeks it will probably drop like a rock. It's only because of Mothers Day that it's selling well.
March 30, 201412 yr I initially discredited 'My Love' as a song just cashing in off the back of 'Rather Be' but it's undeniably a hit in its own right, and grown on me as well ^_^ Edited March 30, 201412 yr by Riser
March 30, 201412 yr Time for some stats! :magic: The average age of the artists with the top 5 albums is 45.8. Sam Bailey only sold 21.5% of her week's total in her first day (including pre-orders). That is very back-loaded. You can tell it's Mother's Day week. Edited March 30, 201412 yr by Noahspike
March 30, 201412 yr What on EARTH at Sam Bailey's sales :o The Mother's Day effect is real! (Seriously, I thought she might have managed 50k with the boost at the end of the week but would never in a million years have expected it to outsell 'G I R L'... gwon her though I guess, she should enjoy this while it lasts as I doubt she'll ever have sales this good again even if she releases album 2 for Mother's Day 2015 ) Hooray for 'Changes' hanging onto the top 3 at least. Shame it didn't end up challenging for #1. Hope it can have decent longevity now a la 'Sonnentanz (Sun Don't Shine)'.
