The lyrics are cringey as hell also. Definitely the worst #1 of the year by some distance but it could be worse... looking forward to seeing just how far it drops next week, I expect it will remain top 10 but almost certainly not top 5? I suppose it's cool to have another Australian #1, though 'Changes' would have been FAR better for that  (FAUL and Wad Ad are French of course, but Pnau are from Australia).

Formed in 2011, the band features fellow Norwest Christian College grads Luke Hemmings (lead vocals/guitar), Michael Clifford (guitar/vocals), Calum Hood (bass/vocals), and Ashton Irwin (drums/vocals). The band uploaded several videos to Youtube and quickly caught the attention of Sony, who signed the band to a publishing deal. In 2012, 5 Seconds to Summer released two EPs including Unplugged and Somewhere New. The following year, the band received a further boost after they were asked to open for Britain's One Direction on tour. March 30, 201412 yr I Got U   FANTASTIC song, a shame it didn't get a second week but at least it got there last week!
March 30, 201412 yr Duke Dumont only making it one week at #1 :( Thanks a lot 5 Seconds Of Summer. Your punishment will be to fall from Number 1 out of the Top 10 next week!
March 30, 201412 yr The last Australian act to reach Number 1 was Gotye with Somebody That I Used To Know FT Kimbra in February 2012
March 30, 201412 yr I know that! But officially released just several weeks apart which raised my suspicions. Was it available on iTunes previously and then removed? I don't think so, I think it was planned for a release around now anyway and it just happened to coincide nicely with 'Rather Be' blowing up.
March 30, 201412 yr http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-basic/rip.gif I really don't like that 5SOS song, hopefully it drops out of the top 10 next week. Duke Dumont though
March 30, 201412 yr 5SOS by FAR the worst No1 of the decade so far! :manson: Unless I'm forgetting anything obvious, I agree with this. :( Oh well, I can't always get my way with the official chart
March 30, 201412 yr I can see She Looks So Perfect being a guilty pleasure grower due to the catchiness, but right now the lyrics put me off. Edited March 30, 201412 yr by Jade
March 30, 201412 yr I actually don't think they're all that bad, but yeah this track is really poor. :puke2:
March 30, 201412 yr You can't seriously think 'She Looks So Perfect' is worse than the likes of 'Let's Get Ready to Rhumble', 'He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother', etc. :drama:
