Anyway, pretty terrible video. She throws everything in but the iamspamamispamwhoamspam sink and it just looks like a mess. She really has lost it. You know you've gone down the shitter when a DOG who appears for no more than a few seconds is the best bit of a 6 odd minute video.

It is one of her best music videos of all time. I usually can respect others' opinions on her work, but not this time. This video was flawless, from the

opening to the end. Please go have a seat in the generic Gaga troll section.

Venus, love and the need to rebirth Neptune Pool is a cesspool for creativity. The HAUS and embryonic creative space bring her and heal her mind and soul - giving her the opportunity to rebirth from a safe space. It is both a funeral to lay to rest the pain of the past and a state of rebirth. While she's rebirthing and absent from the music industry, it is taken over by RHOBH like artists - A commentary on mindless money making hollow music. Appear awkward, glitz and glam while faux playing instruments. It is a commentary on shoving mindless and substance-less music down people's throats. If I'm rich, if I can afford it, put me in a music video and make me look musical and professional. It is intentionally awkward. They would know that the blonde lady is playing the chello in the wrong position. REBIRTH/Neptune Pool/Visual Filler Dance scene, fashion, scenic crane shots - what a music video should be.

 

Then there's the room full of rebirthed "Saints" "Philosophers" "Musical Icons"/ Cloning. There is a reference to Minecraft "/gamemode ARTPOP" (and previously Andy Cohen and the RHOBH - a show Gaga has professed to love). These together could represent elements of Gaga's hobbies during the time of her injury. They are interspersed as comical and interesting parts of her personal life. They take the DNA of Jesus (Love, Powerful, Wisdom), Ghandi, (Love, Wisdom), MJ (Talent, Love) and create a society of those who serve art (men in black suits). It is interesting to note that Ghandi, MJ and Jesus were all betrayed by the people they served. There is a duality here, Gaga could be talking about the love and compassion she spreads with her Little Monsters. Taking over the industry, Gaga blasts money to distract the money hungry music machine. With that opportunity, she uses it to push art, love and compassion into the industry. She removes the management from before. The reign of the money machine is over. The world is now safe for her little monsters and people to leave the castle. For ART and POP to belong together.

Should come under the video's description on Youtube. Still making more sense of it with each watch but this is all so spot on.

Seriously, you are a mod of this forum, you need to be able to accept that not everyone is going to rim Gaga so much that they are wearing her as a hat

I really dislike the first couple of minutes. As soon as G.U.Y. comes on, the video is brilliant.

It's obvious that there are going to be massive fans of Gaga on here, who are clearly going to overreact to the video. That's a given, and by entering this forum you agreed to take that all in your stride. If you did not think that would happen and it clearly frustrates you, why even visit this part of the site?

 

Additionally, if you're entitled to give you're clearly overly negative opinion (which in my opinion you've done to wind people up - particularly poor Kath), why can't they give an overly positive opinion. Apparently the reason why the housewives are in it is because Gaga's label refused to fund the music video, so NBC agreed as long as they could get the premiere and the housewives appear in the video.

That makes absolutely no sense at all.

 

The video has a clear message. It's not some throwaway pop music video, despite the humour, bright colours and outlandish set pieces. Underneath that, there's a linear story regarding her recent problems with her management. This ties in perfectly with the meaning of the actual song - just because she hasn't been the one calling all the shots all of the time, that's ok because she's really the one in charge, from a seemingly submissive position. It works perfectly.

 

I'm not really sure exactly what you were looking for in terms of substance. As far as actual meaning and real commentary on things that are happening outside of the music video, she's really got it all in there.

 

Of all the criticism people could come up with, no substance is not one that can be used in this situation.

The only problem I have with it, and that you can tell it is not from the Fame era because of this, is the quick scenes. A scene will happen for a second then flash away, it can be quite disorientating and make it look a bit 'busy'. Obviously Applause suffered from this a lot more and was her worst video because of it. However, the story, the imagery, the ideas, the passion all more than make up for it! However the dizzying speed through all these scenes and quick switches to include everything are what stops it becoming a new Bad Romance.

 

The other problem I have is what Mr Box Name, one of me haterz, said earlier: that the ARTPOP song is better :lol: It really does feel like the video is bigger than the song, as with Telephone, it's not a 50/50 split as with Bad Romance. The song isn't one of her classics, but that's ok. It's all about rebirth. From this to Gypsy, a potential classic, getting the disillusioned back on board first.

 

Still an amazing video, best of the year? Only Ghetto Horse comes close! Her best since Bad Romance or at least Telephone :wub:

When we watch up until the credits then just pull the bar back to the start, does that count as a new stream or do we have to refresh the whole page to count as a new view or in fact watch the whole video including the 3 minute credits which I haven't done?

Err, she had a shaky start to the era with the incredibly dull 'Applause' (which wasn't helped what with the terrible video) - possibly an entirely plausible reason for my dislike at the time. Since moving on from that, most of the album has been fantastic.

 

I don't see what relevance that has to this situation though when this is more a case of Kath constantly being belittled, made to look as though she's some sort of outcast and targeted by a small, minute group of members (and it just so happens to be the same people each time)? If that's the best you can come up with to fill your schedules then by all means carry on though. ^_^

Can we just draw a line under these personal attacks now? There's going to be huge fans and huge haters (who probably would have more fun not visiting here in all honesty, but they're obviously allowed here if they so wish and we WELCOME differing opinions on her work).

 

Comments like "A pig in lipstick is still a pig" are asking for a reaction though and whilst valid on an open forum, i'm sure T Boy can understand that it was perhaps not the most "adult" way of constructing a post. But again each to their own, i just think there's much better ways of spending time than constantly being negative just for being negatives sake.

Once again, I'm misunderstood. I have no problem with people looning over Gaga and her video. What I do have a problem with is the fact that any negative comment, which should be fair game here as this is a discussion forum, is frowned upon and we (some of us who've been on this site since the beginning) are being referred to as trolls and haters. Why this treatment but the over the top praise is ok, I just don't get.

 

You have no idea as to my motives. My original post in here today had NOTHING to do with Kath and I have not personally insulted her in this thread. She began personal insults a while ago but this is not relevant to this discussion so I'll go no further. I have tongue in cheek humour and I won't apologise for it.

 

Digging up dirt? Ridiculous claims. Read this thread, I have attacked no one. I've merely commented or made suggestions. The only time I made comment on the opinion of others was when mine, and Regina's too, were attacked for no real reason and what I said was pretty harmless and Kath not even mentioned.

Regina and T Boy please drop it now, I will lock this thread if you don't and that is really what I don't want to do. Constructive criticism has been made before your posts and wasn't met with a bad response. But it's obvious if you make unreasonable baiting posts you are going to get a backlash and going O/T and making this a hate Kath thread/personal dig thread. It is very unpleasant for members and guests to read.
