Not a complete disaster by any means; it is more musically cohesive than 'Artpop' so at least that is something. Definitely not something I will really wish to come back to though. I feel like the change of sound may have been warranted if the songs were much stronger but quite a lot of them are quite weak melodically and just very mediocre (the Florence song for example).

She is not saying that previous guises were not her, but she is basically ridding herself of them. This is her now but she recognises that they were different parts of herself and how she felt safe at those various times.

 

She can say things now much more safely and simply rather than the complicated, outlandish ways of the Lady Gaga we knew before this era. So this is the future of the artist 'Lady Gaga', I doubt there will ever be another "The Fame Monster". I *think* I am ok with that. She seems happy, calm, collected - compare this to the interviews before she released Born This Way, the manic techno-ghastly personas before ARTPOP. She really has come full-circle!

Come To Mama is the definite dud, wtf is it? :lol: Overall though, I am SO impressed as my expectations were quite low. It's nothing I'd scream over and claim slayage but it's a very consistent and cohesive album with only one bad track. A-Yo is incredible, I feel Dancin' In Circles is a tad overrated from what I've seen but maybe it's a grower and I do like it. Idk it feels kinda weird to have a Gaga album that I'm not slain by but I'm not disappointed because it's MUCH better than I thought after Million Reasons (I love that now though oops), I always say it pays not to have your expectations too high! I just think it takes getting used to that this is still Gaga. It's definitely a very good album, I'm shook *.*

I've played the album a fair few times now, it's actually 'Sinner's Prayer' i've found is stuck in my head when i'm not listening :o Still absolutely adoring 'Dancin' in Circles', 'Diamond Heart', 'Angel Down' and 'John Wayne'. 'Perfect Illusion' works really well on the album.

 

'Joanne', 'Come to Mama' (:')) and even 'Hey Girl' now are the throwaway ones and I just can't properly get into 'A-Yo' but i'm hoping that changes if it becomes a single.
