Just seems strange because on daytime they usually stick to the playlist except for the Record of the Day (with the exception of Fearne Cottons show)! Just wanted to know if there was a reason stated on the show he heard it!

 

They play lots of songs outside the playlist though, even in day-time. Looking at the most recent songs they've played stuff like:

 

Kelly Clarkson - Stronger

Rihanna - Only Girl

2 Chainz - We Own It

Taylor Swift - I Knew You Were Trouble

Dr. Dre - I Need a Doctor

Expect this song to be a contender for #1 very soon when the world cup starts:

 

It's by Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez & Claudia Leitte and it went to #1 on iTunes on the day of release in Brazil.

No it wasn't TOTD on Radio 1...Fearne Cotton played it just before the end of her show this morning so could possibly be a TOTD sometime this week!

 

They still throw a few new songs in on each show, even if they are not on the playlist mate.

 

 

Yeah Fearnes show is usually given leeway to do that kind of thing like Jo Wiley used to!

Yeah they are just recurrents/older tracks. It was because it was Fearnes show. She played DA Glowing alot at xmas even though it never got playlisted & she plays Zane Loews Hottest record again and stuff like that.

 

Sometimes on a Sunday after the chart they play mainstream pop songs that dont make the playlist (like Pixie Lott) or before they are added because that show is specifically aimed at a younger audience!

Just a shame it's not with a better song, but even still, Stay High is growing on me immensely, and I'm really liking it now.

Stay High is one of the best this year, fully in support of it going up the charts further! :heart:
