Will Kylie have another Top10 hit again?

I'm sure she will. In fact I wouldn't be totally shocked to see her get another no.1. However she needs the right material to transcend from fanbase buys to mass-appeaL Another 'Spinning Around' in other words. Unfortunately 'Into the Blue' is far from another Spinning Around.

No it's not, it's from the album. The funny thing is even if it does a 'Midnight Memories' (single) in the charts the record label can still pretend it was kinda successful, as it went top 20 on album release week thanks to iTunes loading all the album pre-orders onto two songs, 'You And I' being one of them (how strange)

I kind of hope it charts higher than #19 actually, just so they don't have that horrible anomaly in their chart history forever more. (Of course they still have the other one but maybe 5th single???)

 

Of course there's probably very little chance of that happening after their last single only scraped the top 40. I'm quite confused as to why they're releasing another single actually when they didn't do so after 'One Thing' or 'Kiss You' despite both of them being fairly big hits... perhaps it could actually be because they can technically claim 'You & I' was a top 20 hit even if it does absolutely nothing :lol:

Re: Abdul, Tove Lo's EP is an EP in the traditional sense (i.e. a collection of songs that isn't large enough to be considered an album but is supposed to be a full body of work).

I don't think this single release is that comparable to Midnight Memories really, because that had an X Factor performance THREE MONTHS before its EP release, which led to it trickling for so long, losing sales from its impact week that way. You & I has less time between its single announcement and EP release so less time to trickle-sell, plus the fact that the song is more commercial-sounding IMO. I think it'll go higher than MM did but maybe not outpeak #19.

I far prefer this to 'Spinning Around', the simple fact is because of the position she is in right now she was going to struggle whatever she releases.

Out of interest, have you heard the song :P? I sometimes think the quality of individual songs gets forgotten in album campaign-related chart analyses! As Joseph said, it's likely to do better commercially based on its own merits. (I'm not saying it's a particularly great song by the way - just that its a lot better than 'Midnight Memories' as a single choice). On top of this, they aren't going to lose radio support anytime soon and I believe there's a single mix (?) which should help them with radio plays as well as fanbase sales. I can see it doing moderately well for them, i.e. possibly top 20 peak with 100k+ sales overall kind of well :D.

 

Also, regarding them releasing another single when they hadn't previously, don't forget about 'One Way Or Another', which kept them in the public consciousness last Spring ;). It's likely a fourth single would have been released in its place. I think the label will be keen to get a decent hit after the underperformance of the last single in order to keep the album afloat over the coming months before they return with the fourth (wow) album.

Well I heard it on the chart show so yes :P It is by some distance the best 'Midnight Memories' single but that's really not saying much, it's still only passable at best. 'Don't Forget Where You Belong' was quite good though.
