What country in the world offers a song in their National chart since it started in their country, that has spent the most weeks Consecutively at #1.

The UK Offers a 16 Week with Bryan Adams (1991)

Ireland Offers a 18 Week with Bill Whelan (1994)

So far Ireland beats the UK, any other country in the world beats this.

Canada's record is Elton John with Candle in the Wind 1997, it stayed at #1 for 46 weeks (non-consec). It had a run of 35 weeks, 7 weeks, 3 weeks and then appeared (randomly) at #1 again in 2002! I think it was top 3 for 2 years too.

I'm sure that somewhere like Hungary I remember there being a number 1 for something like 35 weeks?!

There used to be a thread called something like "All official singles chart number 1s" or something along those lines, I'm sure it was there I saw it...

Lou Bega's "Mambo #5" spent 20 weeks at #1 in France, which is the record there.

Found this one, August 28th 1999 - 8th January 2000, Claimed French Christmas Number 1 there.

There must have been some reason why it went to No.1 again. 5th Anniversary?

35 consecutive weeks at #1 is ridiculous! What are Canadian sales figures like compared to the UK?
I know that "Candle In The Wind '97" has sold about 2 million physical singles in Canada, which is the top selling single of all time there too. But on the whole, Canadian physical single sales started dipping hugely around the mid '90s.

I think there was one artist who was apparently #1 in Hungary non-stop for several years with a few songs

The US record is also 16 weeks (for 'One Sweet Day' by Boyz II Men/Mariah Carey).

Wasn't Australia's record something like 12 weeks, for either Sandi Thom or Las Ketchup but I can't remember which  Pharrell might have just equalled that, but again I don't know for sure.

In the ARIA era (since 1983) it is Coolio’s "Gangsta’s Paradise" with 13 weeks at #1. But ABBA managed 14 weeks at #1 in 1976 with "Fernando".

Other long runners in Australia

Beatles "Hey Jude" (13 weeks)

Eminem "Lose Yourself" (12 weeks)

Pharrell Williams "Happy" (12 weeks)

Wings "Mull of Kintyre" (11 weeks)

Spice Girls "Wannabe" (11 weeks)

Bryan Adams "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You" (11 weeks)

Whitney Houston "I Will Always Love You" (10 weeks)

ABBA "Mamma Mia" (10 weeks)

Sandi Thom "I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker (With Flowers in My Hair)" (10 weeks)

LMFAO "Party Rock Anthem" (10 weeks)

That Sandi Thom song really stands out in that list, but to be fair it was really big, but completely forgotten now though and it wouldn't be a hit single today.
By the way, Pharrell's "Happy" is currently spending its' 19th week at #1 in France. One week away from tying the record there.
I wouldn't say it was really big. More like a BAD MEMORY

Spain

Carlos Baute & Marta Sanchez - Colgando En Tus Manos - 27 weeks (25 consecutive)

Shakira - Waka Waka 17 (consecutive) weeks

Jennifer Lopez feat. Pitbull - On The Floor 15 (consecutive) weeks

Cali & El Dandee - Yo Te Esperare 15 weeks
