Blurred Line advocates rape. Which one is worse?

I was joking on the latter bit. Obviously it's worse, but in a bubble where songs have no effect on anything I refer Blurred Lines.

So many amazing songs selling over a million. It has restored my faith in the buying public.
Seven weeks at #2  How unlucky, what songs was it stuck behind?

Many songs, but it almost beat 'Stay Awake' and 'Loca People', which both turned out to be complete non-#1s  Unlucky M5.

Robin Thicke officially slaying all your faves

#2 'SOMEONE LIKE YOU' Adele

"Starships" will be joining that list later this year..... :P (oh wait, you like that song don't you, I think - you may have mentioned it once before!)

Yeah but I know Sak Noel wasn't number one for seven weks Abdul

Blurred Lines is awful. It's a very polarising chart. I seem to love or hate most of the Top 50.

Blurred Lines - Alright, but way too overplayed for me to appreciate it for ages.

Someone Like You - Meh. Set Fire To The Rain/Skyfall>>>>>>>>>>>

Moves Like Jagger - Still sounding decent.

Somebody That I Used To Know - Aged badly for me :(

I Gotta Feeling - Aged AWFULLY

That's made me realise I can rarely get behind the biggest hits of the year since 2010, hopefully this year will be a first where I still love the YE number 1 at the end of the year.

The full list of songs that beat M5 are 'Heart Skips A Beat', 'Stay Awake', 'All About Tonight', 'What Makes You Beautiful', 'No Regrets', 'Loca People' and 'We Found Love'

Ignore Jade - I definitely remember Rihanna beating M5

I've had a stab at sales in the OP- I'll refine it tonight so this is version 1- thanks to MW over the weeks!
Interesting that 2012, the biggest year for downloads, didn't provide any of the three biggest sellers.

I didn't even realise Blurred Lines had overtaken Someone Like You, although Happy will overtake before long.

It's crazy how successful it's been, it's not a traditionally hugely melodic song or anything. I knew it would be pretty big the first time I heard it but I didn't expect it to be one of the biggest selling singles EVER! :o

#1 'BLURRED LINES' Robin Thicke feat. T.I. and Pharrell

Well there you go, at the end it all comes down to a previously forgotten one-not-even-a-real-hit-wonder from 2007. Thanks all for contributing to this thread and catch up again the next time this is done! Maybe by then Gotye will have plummeted to #38.

Wow, most of them are all pretty good. I still love 'No Regrets', 'All About Tonight', 'Don't Go' and 'Heart Skips A Beat' :o I used to love Stay Awake too :)

It was #3 on the week "Don't Go" was #1. Emeli Sande was #2 IIRC.

"We Found Love" was released midweek and blocked M5 from #1 again!

So Blurred Lines is the song with the most "View in iTunes" clicks. Robin Thickle is like a dirty old man in a 37 year old's body.
