Just finished watching episodes 2 and 3. It definitely has picked the pace up! :o Was not expecting that to happen to Kirsten, really liked her </3 And Sarah Lancashire really is on top form in this, just small moments that are stunning.

Last nights episode was pretty calm...up until that ending!!

Just when I thought this show couldn't get any darker  The body count is looking similar to that of average episode of Midsomer!

Cannot wait for next weeks finale

Poor Lewis. He was the only member of the plotters who showed any remorse/humanly behaviour during the crime. He should have never gone to get Tommy after the cellar attack.

I had a feeling Lewis was going to be next especially after Tommy overheard him in the flat.

I really want to see Tommy getting caught and go back to prison for what he's done but the actor who plays him has done a great job I don't want this series to end :(

Wonder if he gets away and the way is left open for a sequel. ;)

That episode was just stunning, definitely the strongest I've seen Sarah in a long while  Gutted that Lewis was killed, really liked him. :( Interested to see what's going to happen next week now - surely he can't get off with it? :o I expect if there's a second series it'll be a different case altogether.

I was saying this earlier, I really hope we get a second series

I just hope we get a good ending, and with Sally Wainwright as writer I'm confident she will deliver and I hope they arrest Tommy rather than he kills himself or gets killed as he's already murdered 3/4 people

I think if they're going to wrap up Tommy's character and move onto a different story with the next series if there is one, the only acceptable outcome would be having him arrested so Catherine can finally get peace of mind (and at the very end of the episode go to her daughter's grave and tell her he's being punished now :kink:).

I'm thinking he'll grap the lad and it'll end with a showdown between Catherine and him.
I reckon Tommy will probably commit suicide once he realises he's got no one left. Also expecting something major to happen between Tommy, Ryan & Catherine next week.

I thought that too! I think Tommy will kidnap/snatch Ryan and Catherine tries to find them and then there's a showdown, probably on a roof or by another means but I hope its not a bad ending as I've loved this show from start to end so I want an exciting conclusion which I think we will get!

Fabulous ending! Was expecting the boat to explode there :o but glad Catherine battered him and he's going down! That last 30 seconds as well was just stunning

Probably my favourite drama of the year so far! Definitely deserves a second series.

Shit the bed. Incredible finale. I loved the outcome with Tommy and I'm glad that he got what he deserves, whilst leaving it open for a second series. Catherine is an incredible character, what a woman, and the final montage was so beautiful/emotional. Like, awards NEED to be won for the whole thing.
Tempted to pre-order the DVD right now! I can imagine the show and Sarah Lancashire may both be nominated for BAFTAs next year! She gave a stunning performance in every episode

Only caught onto this late on but managed to catch up! Without doubt the best TV police (or any for that matter) drama series since Prime Suspect at its peak - and to be honest - it probably surpassed that as well.

Sarah Lancashire was brilliant (is she ever anything else?) but the rest of the cast was equally up to the mark. James Norton excelled as Tommy Lee. Usually by the end of this kind of thing I start to feel sorry for the bad guy despite their deeds (as they're usually made out to be pathetic and vulnerable in some way) but I felt nothing but hate for Tommy Lee right up to the bloody end. It was good to see Siobhan Finnernan get away from the melodramatic soap that is Downton Abbey and get her teeth into something of substance - great to see her reunited with her Rita, Sue & Bob Too partner in crime George Costigan.

I just watched the finale and this has been the best BBC drama in such a long time, thoroughly gripping and tense to the end and Sarah Lancashire truly deserves awards for her performance!

Happy Valley is 2014's Broadchurch!

Unmissable drama, it was the best show I've seen this year! I certainly wasn't expecting it to be so dark and fast with genuine shocks in each episode!

That final episode was perfect! My heart was pounding throughout the whole episode but I'm glad Tommy got caught and Catherine stopped him from blowing up the boat and that kicking she gave him was spot on, and it all worked I wasn't disappointed :)

This has GOT to be in with a shot of winning big at next years BAFTA's but what will i do with my Tuesday nights now?!
