Apparently Happy Valley returns next month and features a serial killer storyline! :D I can't wait, this is probably one of my favourite ever British dramas.

Oh yes, very exciting!

Hope it continues the same standard as I'm ready to be utterly gripped once again!

It's official: returns Tuesday 9th February at 9pm (replacing one of the Silent Witness slots when it finishes). Really looking forward to it and I'm confident it won't disappoint!

If I have time, I may rewatch the first series in anticipation. It's been nearly two years, so I think a refresh is in order. Plus, it's good enough quality to watch again anyway!

I think this series will be good too. They've taken there time to make it, rather than rushing the series out in a year as a response to the success of the first.

Fantastic series opener; again the series has so far got a really gritty, at times unsettling feel to it but with the right dose of comedy.

This series is just going to be incredible! And wow at that preview too!

I watched the majority of the first series in a couple or so days so this is going to be HARD when the show has such amazing endings/cliffhangers.

An excellent opener, helping to set up the new characters. I guess the theme of the series is women can do bad things considering it kept on being mentioned/suggested throughout.

^Yeah, I watched the first series in pretty much one block too (I was intending on watching them over the course of a week but, like you say, the cliffhangers are too good!).
It was a fantastic series opener! They've set up so many strands which will no doubt be connected over the coming episodes.
Loved that opener! And so so excited for the affair story :o It's bizarre how nearly all the new characters come from either Harry Potter or Coronation Street! Think I watched the first four episodes of the first series and then the last two I saw live so it's going to be really tough only having one of these a week! Highly recommend this to anyone who's thinking about watching this!

Happy Valley has done that thing again when things hotten up and get grittier and darker as the series goes on and I love it! :D

Episode 3 trailer:

Gosh this really is the best thing on TV at the moment by an utter mile!

Absolutely incredible thrilling drama with fantastic acting

I could be completely wrong but I have a theory that

the bunny boiler who is now probably dead was the girlfriend who made Clare's friend depressed and their life hell after their affair

I thought the same too when his past was been explained by Clare.

And me!! I wonder if that guy will end up getting arrested for the murder but I'm loving having this show back, just amazing :)

I missed Series 1 when it aired, but I finally bought the DVD last week after seeing the hype for Series 2. Watched the first episode with my mum, thinking we'd maybe watch one episode per night, but we ended up watching all 6 episodes in just a couple of nights because we were so gripped by it. What an incredible drama! Sarah Lancashire is just sensational.

The first two episodes of Series 2 have certainly kept up the quality too. As Episode 2 ended I felt really disappointed that I was no longer able to immediately watch the next episode.

): @ Clare falling off the wagon, and Catherine's desperation to make her see sense ultimately failing. </3

Another excellent episode, wasn't expecting the affair woman to be gone so soon! There really is tremendous acting throughout, I really loved the scenes where Clare was drunk in particular.
