It's kind of depressing to think about how much bigger 'Only Love Can Hurt Like This' would be if radio didn't actually ignore Paloma seemingly out of principal.

I meant commercial radio.

I assume most of that is probably Radio 2 airplay though, Radio 1 and Capital seem to help most with the singles chart.

I am amazed at how well 'Only Love Can Hurt Like This' is doing (Paloma has in general done far better than I expected with this era despite R1 snubbing her, with the album beating the opening sales of 'Fall To Grace' and having good longevity so far, 'Can't Rely On You' did rather well aside from the big 2nd week drop as well).
Why has Paloma been snubbed? Her current material (bought the album last week and loving it) seems more R1 friendly than her previous stuff plus we can't use her age as an excuse. The mind boggles.
'Can't Rely On You' being snubbed really was quite strange as it's a very R1 friendly song - it clearly hasn't harmed her career too much though.
They randomly gave up on her after 'Picking Up The Pieces', which was strange as '30 Minute Love Affair' was quite electro poppy and she released singles that were a lot more MOR than that previously.
It's interesting how well 'Only Love Can Hurt Like This' is doing with no Radio 1/Capital support (albeit with a lot of support elsewhere) while 'Still' is struggling so much despite being on Radio 1's B-list for the last while and having had TV promo. I don't think there's a big quality difference or anything.

They were actually off with her with 'Picking Up The Pieces' too, I thought. It was only B-listed which was strange and I'm pretty sure it was either dropped on release week or the week after despite it doing extremely well. I also recall there was a week when they were short of time to play everything and the song they chose to cut was 'Picking Up The Pieces' despite it being a very recent release. The way they treated that release meant I wasn't surprised at all when they snubbed the following singles.

5. Tove Lo - Stay High (feat. Hippie Sabotage) [Habits Remix]

29. Lana Del Rey - Gods & Monsters

31. Alicia Keys - It's On Again (feat. Kendrick Lamar)

32. Pharrell Williams - Marilyn Monroe

63. Robyn & Röyksopp - Do It Again

65. Jason Derulo - Wiggle (feat. Snoop Dogg)

73. DJ Khaled - All I Do Is Win (feat. T-Pain, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg & Rick Ross)

99. Beyoncé - Pretty Hurts

106. Molly - Children of the Universe

65. Jason Derulo - Wiggle (feat. Snoop Dogg)

This song is doing so well! I don't think it's getting any significant airplay yet.

51. D.I.Y - Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott

The album this is from is doing very well on pre-orders (currently #28) - a bit odd after Paul Heaton's last solo album in 2010 peaked at just #51, but I guess it's a bigger deal this time because of the collaboration with another former Beautiful South member.

Amazed at Tove Lo re-entering the top 5 despite R1 dropping her from the playlist, I guess they're probably still playing it though. Has it been picked up by any other stations yet?

Didn't expect DIY to do that well! It's not bad but hardly up to the standard of Rotterdam, Don't Marry Her or Perfect 10!

Molly almost top 100 *.* To be fair it should probably be a lot higher with the Radio 2 a-listing!

Yes, KISS and Capital are playing it loads

Katy B never should have released "Still" in the first place. That was never an obvious single when I listened to the album.

It was the one loads of people were calling a highlight.

It was for me, although I'd never have thought it would be released as a single. Especially two ballads in a row for a dance act!

I think the record company thought they could repeat the success of 'Crying for No Reason' but alas, it doesn't seem like it was to be.

20. Paloma Faith "Only Love Can Hurt Like This"

29. Lana Del Rey "Gods & Monsters"

31. Alicia Keys "It's On Again"

32. Pharrell Williams "Marilyn Monroe"

38. Lily Allen "Our Time"

Yes at these all doing well, hopeful Alicia and Pharrell will make the T40 this week and Lily too. The success of the Lana track can only mean good things for "West Coast" and the upcoming album?
