Even if it was released tonight, it would probably get Top 10 on itunes tomorrow and free fall by the end of the week. Kasabian are more of an album seller rather than singles.

But then I'd be able to own and enjoy it and who's to say it wouldn't do a Magic?

He said on twitter it could be the biggest pop record of the yr :0!

I think they'd go Top 40 easily, they would only need to sell 7K to get there in such a dead week and by doing so they immediately raise their profile -

But then I'd be able to own and enjoy it and who's to say it wouldn't do a Magic?

As much as I myself love Kasabian, It's very unlikely it would do a 'Magic.' Coldplay have a massive fanbase, but also appeal to casual music buyers, where as Kasabian don't tend to appeal to casual music buyers. Though I would love to see them surprise us all and have the success the Arctic Monkeys had last year. :)

Kasabian can appeal to casual buyers as they proved with 'Fire' (but that may have just been a one-off bigger success for them).

Hopefully it will be top 40 on Sunday.

Well, I'm not particularly in love with this, but I like The Prodigy's EIITP sample in it. :P

Ghost Stories up to 9 on the UK after the Radio 1 interview. Top 5 for a regular albums. 3 Weeks BEFORE! And the pre orders has been wonders since day 1 and they were top 15 in the past 2 weeks.

:ne: 64. Explodes - Kasabian

So we do have SOMETHING out from Kasabian this week, just not the single :P

 14. Magic - Coldplay

 29. Midnight - Coldplay

'Midnight' is still being helped by album pre-orders of course but surprised it's still that high anyway, really hope it can still be in with a chance of going top 40 when the album comes out. Giorgio Moroder remix still at #99 as well!

I know thats the thing its hard to know what a song would do when released early but I agree Kasabian are a massive band but dont have the casual buys Coldplay would. But it all depend on the 'song' as Arctic Monkeys showed last year.

Totally disagree with Mr Aly theres no way it would just sneak into the top 75 Kasabian are one of britains biggest and most established bands. But why wait 6-8 weeks for a release if your not going to release it straight away why not 2 weeks after airplay? Indie acts do much better with an earlier release imo...

Look at Magics sales since March nearly 150k sold and still top 20 and it could rise to the top 10 as promo comes along before the album with last nights interview & Jools Holland this week! So it could sell 200k before an official release!

Heard 'Eez-Eh' on R1 this morning, sounds like something that could be a hit but I'm not sure. I don't think holding back releases is ever a good thing for indie acts now (Bastille aside if they count I guess), the biggest hype around them is right when the song premieres most of the time. I think 'Eez-Eh' would have made the top 10 at least on iTunes if it was released today but it runs the risk of its hype peaking long before release and the song ending up not doing too well as we saw with Klaxons.
