Coldplay's 'Midnight' at #89 - charting solely on the remix I presume?

Indeed! Great that it's been allowed to chart and #89 is a fairly impressive chart position based solely off a random remix that isn't even getting any airplay (AFAIA).

Royal Blood making a double top 75 debut with 'Come On Over' debuting at #68 and 'Little Monster' reaching a new peak of #74! Good to see Bruce Springsteen picking up an unexpected top 100 SMASH with 'American Beauty' as well. And Pharrell starting his domination with 'Marilyn Monroe' :dancing:

Would I be right in assuming that the list of re-entries to the album chart is basically the contents of the latest iTunes special offer?

Someone told me in the Chartshow thread that they've been taken off the budget album chart.

Only Whitney, P!nk, Alanis and Kodaline are (and Little Mix with their 99-54 climb). I think Billy Joel, Paloma Faith and possibly Celine Dion are re-entries just because they've been taken off the budget chart (this also applies to Whitney and I think also P!nk) but The Stone Roses, Kid Ink, Ben Howard, Of Monsters And Men and the others near the bottom are re-entries for assorted other reasons, probably just because of natural random fluctuations for the latter.

Someone told me in the Chartshow thread that they've been taken off the budget album chart.

I wondered why the sudden burst of high old albums suddenly creeping up the chart.

Would I be right in assuming that the list of re-entries to the album chart is basically the contents of the latest iTunes special offer?

Alanis keeps being played on the TV show "The Trip" too

It's the only album Steve Coogan has in the car and they play a song each week, sing along to it and discuss it

I don't think it will be like Journey featuring on The Sopranos but still...

Where did Pharrell's 'Marilyn Monroe' previously get to if it's a re-entry?

It was #178 the week the album was released.

  • Author

This is where I have to poke the note at the top :P It's not a re-entry to the top 100.

~

Unrelated, but with Robin Thicke climbing back to #65 with 'Blurred Lines', it has incidentally repeated what 'Get Lucky' did almost exactly - that had 41 straight weeks top 75, then 5 weeks between 76 and 100 before re-entering the top 75. 'Blurred Lines' has done the same except with an initial run of 42 weeks.

~

Back to related, the top 100 singles are now updated :magic: Will try to get the albums done by tomorrow as well.

Showtek also suffered a huge drop from last week's entry position
Little Mix rebounding so much this week in the albums! Brilliant!
I do hope Gary Barlow can remain top 40 for another week or two before the inevitable slope to leaving the chart now that promotion for the project has stopped.

Did you post the stats from last week, Bré?

Not yet, will try and get that done today!
