The obvious front runner would be the capital Vienna, with the most likely venue being the Vienna Stadthalle: “With a capacity of 16.000 in hall D the Vienna Stadhalle is avaliable for staging ‘media events’, “, says Stadthallen-Boss Wolfgang Fischer. “Where else have you got a venue that can accomodate this many people?” Organising over 250 Shows a year the venue can do fireworks, rain, or whatever you can on stage, and hold Eurovision without problems”. Also throwing its hat in the ring is the Southern Austrian city of Klagenfurt, with its mayor Christian Scheider offering the Wörthersee-Stadion as a possible location. He pointed out that the venue, which is open-air, has the latest technologies and a capacity of 30.000 people. Additionally, the Regional Minister for Lower Austria, Elisabeth Kaufmann-Bruckenberger, has offered her region as the host venue, proposing an “Open Air in north east” contest. It offers “a shot at the first open-air final of this event,” she said. Lastly, the Governor of Tyrol Günther Platter and Innsbruck Mayor Christine Oppitz-Plörer both said in a joint press release Sunday evening that Innsbruck “is available” to host next year’s event. ORF, next year’s organising broadcaster has already indicated that it expects the cost of hosting the contest to be around 20-40 million EUR. It’s Director General said “We’re so happy with this result, although it wasn’t so predictable. Therefore, we haven’t thought everything through just yet.” ESC Xtra Any preferences of where you would like next year's contest to be held? I've seen some images of the proposed venue in Vienna which looks perfect, I'll post them later when I can find them again.
May 12, 201411 yr Author Here are some images of the proposed venue in Vienna from ESC Forum: http://www.stadt-wien.at/typo3temp/fl_realurl_image/wiener-stadthalle1-wi.jpg http://i.imgur.com/NNHVpuX.jpg http://i.imgur.com/yBIr1uT.jpg I love the look of this arena!
May 12, 201411 yr I hope it's not Klagenfurt as open air isn't ideal. I'm thinking of going if it's in Vienna tho
May 12, 201411 yr I'm really curious to see what Austria comes up with! I felt like Denmark this year was just trying to copy Sweden in many respects but didn't pull off a show half as good. Would be very interesting to have an open air venue but could cause sound issues. If we are going to Vienna, eurovision HAS to allow live music and an offer of an orchestra for the contestants.
May 12, 201411 yr Author I'm of the opposite opinion. I think this contest overall has been my favourite that I've watched actually, the stage was incredible on TV and the production, postcards and graphics were all fantastic too. And the overall standard of performances was of a high quality too plus the fact that we had a great UK entry meant I got into the contest possibly more than ever before.
May 12, 201411 yr I'd be very surprised if it was anything other than Vienna, given the length of time between Austrian wins. Thankfully that proposed arena looks up to the task.
May 12, 201411 yr The winner's press conference made it very clear that they'll be wanting to host it in Vienna and indeed it does seem to be the most logical option. I'm interested to see what Austria does with the contest too. Sweden and Denmark were both countries that deeply love eurovision but Austria doesn't seem to have that much of a history of that.
May 12, 201411 yr I wonder if there'll be a 60th anniversary show like they did for the 50th. Maybe the UK can host that? :D
May 12, 201411 yr Given Austria seem to win it every 50 years, they will probably go overboard! Not sure if I will bother for the third given it's a major expense and I'm still in a major strop about Molly getting a majorly undeserved result!
May 12, 201411 yr The dates completely clash with a work event which happens every May in Germany (which is where I'll be next week too) so the chances of me being able to go are slim, even though I'd love to go to Vienna!

The postcards were amazing this year but two words... Petra.Mede haha
May 12, 201411 yr The postcards were amazing this year but two words... Petra.Mede haha Indeed. Swedish Smorgasbord was quite possibly the best song of the contest  Plus there was Linda Woodruff! Depending on when this is compared to my exams I might try and make it across to Vienna. Melodifestivalen is a must this year for me though. I have time set aside for a long overdue trip to Sweden!

'They seem to win every 50 years' = they won fifty years ago and that's it?
May 12, 201411 yr 'They seem to win every 50 years' = they won fifty years ago and that's it? Buzzing for their 2064 entry already!
May 13, 201411 yr Well there's no doubt about it - I shall be going regardless of what city it is. <3
May 20, 201411 yr May 12/14/16 clashes horridly with my potential exam, unless I play CIMA guinea pig and do it in Feb before MF.
May 20, 201411 yr Pretty sure they'll push it back to the 19th/21st/23rd because of some football thingy (no idea what though) on the provisional eurovision week.
May 25, 201411 yr 'They seem to win every 50 years' = they won fifty years ago and that's it? I was pissing about albeit very subtly.
