It's the same style as Say Something and heck, it even has the same melody in parts, but what I'm saying is that it isn't a copy because it's unlikely he'd have even known the song when this happened.

It has been about for a good while, my friend claims the Zac Samuel's remix as her summer song as she heard it in Ibiza as early as last summer. If you are in the music industry I would think you would be trying to listen to new music rather than just what is on Capital's playlist.

I'm fairly sure people would be all over this if it was by say, Jess Glynne, or anybody for that matter who's widely considered as 'credible'.

I just watched a Conor Maynard video in which he's on full-on forced cheeky chappy mode like never before and I survived the whole way through. :o

 

That said, everything about the song+video package takes unconvincing to a new level (and that was always his forté). It's a decent enough track if you remove all of the context though.

Oh I know it's been around a while but it's hardly been everywhere and that he'd want to copy it so apparently blatantly. I think it is just a coincidence in all fairness.

This is a big rip off of Say Something and obviously trying hard to cash in on the house trend, but I love it a lot and is certainly more interesting, fun and melodic than other real omg cool credible dance we currently have in the chart.

This is terrible though. But I'm really not a fan of that Karen song either though, so...

All of her songs sound the same! I only really liked Right Here, the rest is all very formulaic and boring.

On the first listen it sounds like great production with its potential wasted by being a pretty poor song. :( Shame.

And does that affect your enjoyment of the song? 'Born This Way' was a reductive replicate of 'Express Yourself' to use one example, and that didn't make me enjoy it any less. We get they're similar but now people are stating that as the basis for their whole response and offering nothing else. How is the song a mess for example? I think it's brilliantly produced and sung in a way that really suits his vocals.

 

I wouldn't put it as frankly as Calum but i do think some people's view of the song is being tarnished because of the artist, but that could just be me being cynical.

I'm surprised to have to say it's pretty damn good. Better actually than Say Something, which had all the ingredients but never quite popped for me.

 

Agree with Bal as well. If this was anyone else the praise would be higher.

Very good although he's had some decent material in the past imo too.

 

It's not like Say Something was original anyway, it's a complete rip off of It's Over Now by Big Ang feat Siobhan (not a huge chart hit but very well known in clubbing circles).

I've never been huge on his vocals, but whilst I like Animal and Turn Around, his vocals never struck me as amazing. And in this particular song I felt like his vocals sounded strained. I don't always mind, but I do now.

You know full well that i am capable of accepting other people's opinions and am very open minded with what i like myself, so not for a second am i defending him because he's my "fave".

 

I fully accept that his voice isn't to your liking and can now understand your opinion of the song more widely ~ it wasn't an attack at all, more a discussion.

He's had some good songs but this is just not good at all! Reminds me more of Frankmusic than anything else.

For the record i find 'R U Crazy' to be insufferable now and can't bring myself to listen to it without cringing, just to show i am not blindly loving this ~

After letting this settle a bit I am enjoying it more but I still much prefer his pop stuff.
