Not sure if the rumours are true atm

If it is though, i'm going to have to change my tune for the next few months from willing TIHWD to smash to "really hope LL can smash so it paves the way for Walking on Air :)" and repeated until she eventually does do it. I see her devious game~

Maybe she jus wants to flop with the rest of this campaign to get onto the next album?

I don't think she would, the tour goes well into 2015 so I imagine she'd want to keep the Prism theme going for as long as possible instead of writing for the next album AND touring.

"For now, the next official single is undecided, confirmed to me by Capitol Records’ president Steve Barnett.

Obviously, Capitol Records has plans to release “Legendary Lovers” as a future single, but it’s not the only option. According Barnett, the next focus track will likely be a brand new urban / dance fusion mix of “Walking On Air“, produced by a Jack Ü, a potential dance music project formed by Diplo and Skrillex."

Urban/ dance fusion, like Dark Horse?

Katy Perry's really workin on improvin her credibility then wit these urban tracks! :o

Take note, GaGa!

This is how you do!

A behind the scenes video, it's nice to have confirmation that the backup dancer is in fact not Jessie J  Also, I had no idea the Mariah Carey lookalike was a drag queen *-*

This has been dropped from Radio 1 playlist, making it her first and only single since/with Waking Up In Vegas not to go onto the A-list. It's also going to be her lowest charting single, which is a shame because it's miles better than Birthday and Unconditionally, in my opinion. Probably means we won't get Walking on Air now. :'( It has stuggled with airplay a bit compared to other Katy Perry singles, if it had gone top 5 on airplay like Birthday had, I'm sure this could have peaked around 15/20.

That's because, like I've been telling you, it's shit.

And nobody outside Buzzjack likes it or the embarrassingly bad video.

They do tho...

(Well in The Netherlands that is. It's doing much better than both Birthday and Legendary Lurveeeers did)

This is doing quite well on American radio, as well.

LIES!!

Legendary Lurrrveeeers would never be beaten by such!

More lies!

It's not that bad at all. There are at least 5 or 6 singles that deserve to be her lowest charting more than this.
You are wrong Michael! At first I absolutely hated this but now I love it  I've not managed to convert my sister to a Katy Perry fan quite yet but this is the only song she has on her iPod, quite an achievement for me really :P
This is up 5 spots to #24 on The Hot 100 in the USA. 💅

Edited by Tyler~

I think more people outside of Buzzjack have been talking about this song and "how much they love it" than they ever did for the non-event 'Birthday'. At least from my own experience anyway.

Yeah it's not set the UK charts alight, but I think it still did decently for a 5th single off of a platinum selling album in this day and age. I agree with Joseph (I think it was him) who said that 'Teenage Dream' was a 'Breakaway'-style "fluke" massive selling album. Those kind of campaigns come once in a blue moon for any artist, let alone the one artist! (She still seems to be a big name though and one of the biggest pop females out there atm even with these mediocre performing songs!)

You're right, Jonjo. How many artists have had FOUR post-album top 40 hits in the past year or two? That alone is impressive for Katy.
Rihanna didnt manage it and Beyoncé only had TWO. She is still doing very decently.

I think it's alright for her, even if they don't peak that high it's not affected her status and she's still in a position where radio will playlist anything she releases. Teenage Dream was a once in a career era, and 4 years later she's not going to rack up endless top 10 hits. Despite the low peaking singles, I'd still consider the era overall to be a success for her.

As for this single, I did enjoy it a lot more as an album track and it's one of those where being a single slightly tarnished it for me.
