Posted June 1, 201411 yr Kylie Minogue has reportedly left her record label Parlophone after 15 years. The split comes after disappointing sales of her 12th album Kiss Me Once following its release in March. Although it got to number two on the albums chart, it has only sold 60,000 copies. A source told The Sun on Sunday: "The deal with Parlophone has come to a natural end. She has the option to re-sign with them, but has decided against it because of what happened with Kiss Me Once. "Kylie is one of the world's leading pop stars, so she was bitterly disappointed about the performance of her album. Kylie did everything she could, even agreeing to be a judge on The Voice for a year, which is something she would've liked to avoid." The star signed to Parlophone in 1999 ahead of her hugely successful comeback album Light Years. Source: DigitalSpy I thought this deserved its own thread, but feel free to move this post to a more appropriate one. I'm sure this comes to no surprise, ad she was in need of a label change anyway.
June 1, 201411 yr I totally agree it was time for a change, she needs a fresh and brand new start, but she has had some of her greatest gems on this label (Spinning Around, On A Night Like This, Your Disco Needs You, Can't Get You Out Of My Head, Love At First Sight, Slow, Wow, In My Arms, The One, All The Lovers, Get Outta My Way, Flower & Into The Blue) they are just my faves from this era. Kylie is a fantastic artist and my fave female singer of all time and I wish her all the best. She has had some fantastic albums as well on this label Light Years, Fever, Kiss Me Once and The Abbey Road Sessions. Wow I can't believe it's been 15 years on that label, I mean where has the time gone, but I am looking forward to what she does next and hopefully she will get snapped up by another label very soon. Kylie still has life in her yet and personally she has gone as far as she can with the Parolophone label and time to start a new chapter and maybe stick with the Roc Nation label as well as she can develop more into something more interesting and fresh and exciting. Whatever Kylie does I will be looking forward to it and it will be fantastic, GOOD LUCK to herxxxx Take That & Solo Singles Rate on Take That Forum
June 2, 201411 yr I'd wait for an official confirmation but it comes as no surprise to me at all. Parlophone has completely lost their way.
June 2, 201411 yr Author Your signature was my reaction when I read that tweet! :P She's had a fantastic run with Parlophone but I do think she's in need of a label change; it would just be nice to hear a different sound for her that is more appealing with the public today.
June 2, 201411 yr Not true: Just replied to her tweet that she should have left after Aphrodite!
June 2, 201411 yr Nothing has officially been confirmed yet but I do agree its time she moved on. She's had a good run at Parlophone but things have gone rapidly downhill with this era.

June 4, 201411 yr She done well with them but she really needs to call it quits with them as they don't seem to be no longer interested in promoting her properly. All her single releases since ATL have been a mess. (Not a lot of promotion for GOMW, Poor choices of singles, deletion of the top 10 version of ITB...)
