Another rock song as the Track of the Day, this time from Of Mice And Men, not to be confused with Of Monsters And Men, with their new single Feels Like Forever. They will be playing at Radio 1 Rocks tonight.

I would be surprised but given that Radio 1 Rocks is happening this week, it only makes sense to choose a rock band for their track of the day.
Great Track of the Day, it gets boring when its songs that are already playlisted"!

Track of the Day on Radio 1 10/6/14

Lower than Atlantis Here We Go 3/6/14

If anyone wants to fire the youtube video up!

Not bad actually. After the success of Twin Atlantic's "Heart and Soul", I'm hopeful that some more rock songs can reach the T40. Shame is, R1 aren't pushing Peace's "Money" enough and Linkin Park's focus seems to be on the album rather than the singles.

As Steve201 said, this is the Track of the Day. Looks like R1 are going for rock songs all week then. Not a fan but it's better than the Of Mice & Men track from yesterday

I know my friends will be happy about Of Mice and Men getting airplay on Radio 1! :D A rather good song too!

Today's Track of the Day comes from Architects, who are a British metalcore band. The song 'Gravedigger' is taken from their sixth studio album 'Lost Forever // Lost Together'.

I think it's "rock week" or something. Hence the rocky TOTD's recently.

That Architects song is appalling though. The definition of everything I hate in a song. It's all just screams to me and I don't know why people find it so easy to listen to :\

Yeh im not into that metal stuff wshen they shout down the microphone its just not for me. But i like the variety just dont know why 'rock' week cant mean indie as well lol

I'm sure it will at some point. Fearne said on her show that they are aiming to look through every aspect and sub genre of rock, so I'm sure some Arctic's or Ed Sheeran ( ;D ) will be on the way soon haha.

It's not the type of music I would chose to listen to but I wouldn't say I hated it; I'd only hate a song if I didn't find it very good whereas this is just something that doesn't appeal to me. People listen to it more for the instruments and how the music reflects the mood of the song, plus the lyrics can be very deep and perhaps relateable in some cases (albeit in some you can't really hear the lyrics! :P)

Also 'Gravedigger' is actually quite light in comparison to the other records of that genre some of my friends listen to!

Today's Track of the Day comes from Gerard Way, the lead singer of My Chemical Romance with his debut solo single Action Cat, which sounds like most MCR songs so if you like them you'll like this

Release Date: Out Now

I actually like it, his voice is quite nice. Not sure theyll playlist it as the last new song from MCR wasnt supported (apart from Zane Lowe). Although they sometimes give artists another chance when they go solo. So it may be just another rock song for 'rock week'!
My friend played 'Action Cat' to me today and I was surprised at how MCR-esque it was. I kind of expect band members that go solo to start making music different to what they're known for; music that's more to their own personal taste.

In one week? They'd probably need a year to get through then all!
