31. Samantha Mumba - Baby Come On Over (5.63)

32. Gabrielle - Don't Need the Sun to Shine (To Make Me Smile) (5.60)

33. Allstars - Things That Go Bump in the Night (5.53)

34. Jean-Jacques Smoothie - 2 People (5.41)

35. So Solid Crew - 21 Seconds (5.39)

36. D12 - Purple Hills (5.129)

37. Westlife - Uptown Girl (5.125)

42. Victoria Beckham - Not Such an Innocent Girl (4.38)

43. Bob The Builder - Mambo No. 5 (4.11)

44. Afroman - Because I Got High (4.07)

I haven't got much to say about a lot of these and don't even know some so excuse the lack of proper results analysis or commentary. But amongst them we have quite a few forgotten flopstars of yesteryear and two of three solo spice songs, Geri & Victoria's monstrosities were battling each other with just what was that little bit more bearable, but Geri just wins out in the end.

Westlife's surprisingly decent albeit carbon copy cover of Billy Joel's song for Comic Relief fares OK for them, So Solid Crew's structured garage-rap song doesn't go down too well nor does D12's slight drug-infused song.

A fair few huge novelty hits here too - Bob proved all his haters wrong by snatching weaves and slaying everyone else by grabbing a second number 1 by a reworking of Lou Bega's 1999 smash. 'A little bit of tiling of the roof, a little bit of making waterproof' < honestly when will your faves come up with a lyric like that? DJ Otzi's huge hit is also here, still retaining it's relevance somewhat today by being your standard drunk football chant of choice.

Afroman was going to top this chart, but Buzzjack voters got High :(

(just need to get something to eat before I start the rest)

Ooh yay results!

A few I quite like in that section in a guilty pleasure way like Uptown Girl

Quite like the Geri Halliwell song too  & Purple Hills!

I thought Westlife would get to a higher position than 37 given it's their only decent cover song. :P

Oh well Supermen Lovers to win please! :D

oh no I forgot to vote! :drama: :hithead:

Because I Got High last :( Not a fan of any of the other songs in that section tho

oh no I forgot to vote! :drama: :hithead:

Because I Got High last :( Not a fan of any of the other songs in that section tho

I would of thought you'd like '2 people'. It was a tune back in the day. :music:

This may go on quite late as my body clock's a bit fucked after last weekend

Highest: 10 (gavindeejay, Niall Minogue)

Lowest: 0 (Calum)

Quite a nice disco-ey song this one, they had some tunes, despite Jay Kay being a bit of a prat.

Highest: 10 (Jonjo, Niall Minogue)

Lowest: 0 (Luciano)

Would've been a lot better without that random rap in the middle really.

Highest: 10 (Spiral, Niall Minogue)

Lowest: -1 (Mack)

I can't be too mean to Steps, though uninspired carbon copy covers like this make it slightly easier.

Highest: 10 (Dandy*)

Lowest: 0 (Alex)

listening to this one now, I'd say this could easily be very popular today.

Highest: 10 (gavindeejay)

Lowest: 0 (Davidson)

Oh this is a bit of an anthem, as was In Too Deep. One trick ponies, but a pretty good trick.

'Fat Lip' is an awesome track - always goes down well on the dance floor at student gigs. :) I don't really have a problem with the rap in the middle of 'Perfect Gentleman', it's the fact it was overplayed at the time and ended up getting on my nerves was my biggest issue with the song. I love 'Little L' one of Jamiroquai's underrated songs. They made some really good tracks back in the day. :)

Highest: 10 (Spiral, Jonjo, Mike Sugafan)

Lowest: 0 (Leonardo)

Well, it's a lot better than the other two solo Spice songs on this CD at least.

Highest: 10 (Griff, Aled, Jonjo, Niall Minogue, Davidson)

Lowest: -1 (Cameron)

Ooft, that breakdown <3

Highest: 10 (Jade, Niall Minogue)

Lowest: 0 (Dandy*, Calum)

OK, it's not Keep On Moving, but it's still pretty infectious. One Direction WISH

Highest: 10 (Jonjo, gavindeejay, Rob S, T Boy)

Lowest: 0 (Luciano)

How could you all?! What a total anthem, those lyrics could resonate with pretty much anyone.

21. Liberty - Thinking It Over (6.23)

Highest: 10 (gooddelta, Leonardo)

Lowest: 2 (Mack, Luciano, Calum, Nick F1)

And I've now learnt that this is Liberty X.

This commentary will get better, hopefully

OPM is such a classic :D

Happy to see Travis have got into the Top 20 with their highest charting song and only ever Now appearance, I thought they would struggle to get into the Top 30 here. :)

20. The Ones - Flawless (6.26)

Highest: 10 (ketalina, gavindeejay)

Lowest: 0 (Rob S)

The Ones were a US EDM band that were never heard from after this, quite a tune though, so much so it became a hit twice after being sampled by George Michael in 2004.

Highest: 10 (Niall Minogue, gavindeejay, Niall Minogue)

Lowest: 0 (Aled)

On paper, a cover like this shouldn't have worked, but it actually did quite brilliantly.

Highest: 10 (Niall Minogue, Jonjo)

Lowest: 1 (Calum)

Speaking of covers, Wheatus did actually have more than one hit, this Erasure cover from them proved to be another sizeable hit for them.

Highest: 10 (Griff, Jonjo, Riser, Jonjo)

Lowest: 0 (Luciano)

Like an Eastenders argument in a song, love it

Highest: 11 (Jade)

Lowest: 0 (Dandy*)

Not all that bad, but they had far better, and gosh, Lee Ryan is SO SO annoying

I remember buying 'Flawless' on CD single. Such a flawless tune. :kink: I never really liked the George Michael's version.

Alian Ant Farm's Smooth Criminal was amazing....as was the follow up track 'Movies', which was also a great tune! Wheatus' version of 'A Little Respect' on the other hand was rubbish. Never liked it!

(7.13)

Highest: 10 (Chez Wombat, RabbitFurCoat, Dandy*, gavindeejay, Riser)

Lowest: 1 (Jonjo)

What a classic  I'm sure those of you would've heard it somewhere before and if not, LISTEN

Highest: 10 (Luciano, Jester, gavindeejay, Griff)

Lowest: 2 (Spiral, Dandy*)

The highest peaking song from Travis when they were at the height of their peak, Oh and I saw them at the Isle of Wight festival yesterday and they were GREAT

Highest: 11 (gavindeejay)

Lowest: (Niall Minogue)

There's only so many times you can say 'CLASSIC ' but yes, here's another one.

Highest: 10 (Davidson, ketalina, Niall Minogue, Dandy*, Liam, Jade)

Lowest: 3 (Alex)

Undeniably a great moment for poor old Mary J, recently seen on a chicken commercial I believe, oh dear :(

Highest: 11 (Spiral, Rob S)

Lowest: 0 (Davidson, Luciano)

Who'd have thought Kate Winslet of all people could come up with this? A really beautiful, wintery ballad from the 2001 Christmas Carol adaptation, the two 00s are going on my blacklist.

-x-

I am shocked at all of this section not being top 10, be ashamed :(
