If you were in charge of choosing their singles what would you have picked? And what order would you have released them?

Up All Night

1. What Makes You Beautiful

2. More Than This

---album release---

3. One Thing

No need to change much here, just a superior ballad release. I don't think there's anymore single worthy tracks on the debut. 'Moments' at a push.

Take Me Home

1. Kiss You

2. Little Things

---album release---

3. Rock Me

[4. One Way Or Another]

5. C'mon C'mon

As much as I like 'Live While We're Young' I think 'Kiss You' would've fared much better as the lead. 'Little Things' whilst by no mean a favourite of theirs for me, helped the album loads. Radio was all over it. 'Rock Me' would've been a good 3rd single, easing into the more mature sound of the 3rd album. I'd have liked 'C'mon C'mon' as well but not sure if they'd have been overexposed with the Comic Relief single.

Midnight Memories

1. Best Song Ever

2. Story Of My Life

---album release---

3. Diana

4. Don't Forget Where You Belong

Well 'Best Song Ever' worked alongside the movie and 'Story Of My Life' is the big hit of the album so nothing to change there. But then I would've gone for 'Diana' in the new year, build on the success of 'Story Of My Life' more. And then 'Don't Forget Where You Belong' to coincide with the tour.

Up All Night

1. What Makes You Beautiful - seriously struck gold with such an amazing debut single, anyone who disagrees and says it was the wrong choice would be barmy :P

2. More Than This

-- album release --

3. One Thing

Would've left it there cause One Thing kinda struggled for top 10 and another single probably would've missed it.

Take Me Home

Would keep it as it is I think, perfect single choices, although Rock Me could've been the 4th single and done well if it got promoted well enough with a good video and good airplay.

Midnight Memories

1. Best Song Ever

2. Story of My Life - ugh it started SO WELL with these single choices.

-- album release --

3. Happily - this would've had a video and an EP out within a couple of weeks of the X Factor performance, ie. a release strategy similar to that of Kiss You, because any hype for Midnight Memories the song totally evaporated by the time the EP was out (and it wasn't high initially)

4. You & I - with TV promo and performances, etc. to help it into the top 10.

Up All Night

1. What Makes You Beautiful

2. More Than This

-- album release --

3. One Thing

4. I Wish

There definitely isn't any other song on the album that could have served as a greater début single for them than 'What Makes You Beautiful'. 'More Than This' probably would have performed a lot better than 'Gotta Be You' did, and wouldn't get the hate that GBY gets to this day :kink: 'One Thing' third followed by 'I Wish' would have been excellent to see also! ^_^

Take Me Home

1. Live While We're Young

2. Last First Kiss

-- album release --

3. Kiss You

4. I Would

Midnight Memories

1. Best Song Ever

2. Story of My Life

-- album release --

3. Diana

4. Strong

'Best Song Ever' and 'Story of My Life' would obviously remain as they are - don't think anything else would have worked in their places. 'Diana' just screams 'MAKE ME A SINGLE' and 'Strong' would have been a perfect close to the campaign (although 'You & I' is nice also).

Up all Night

1. What Makes You Beautiful

2. More Than This

~Album Release~

3. One Thing

4. Up All Night

I would have loved to have seen Stole My Heart as a single as I LOVED it at the time! I always imagined them to release a single version featuring vocals from The Saturdays, with them each having partners... Frouis

Take Me Home

1. Kiss You

2. Little Things

~Album Release~

3. Heart Attack

4. Rock Me

5. Over Again

Over Again sounds like an Ed Sheeran song (not surprising as it was written by him), which would have fared well as his absence last year left people pining for more music from him. Heart Attack is basically another version of Kiss You, simple lyrics, American rock-pop production, but is bloody catchy! Live While We're Young is a poor man's What Makes You Beautiful is how it seems to be with the public even though I prefer the former.

Midnight Memories

1. Best Song Ever

2. Story of My Life

~Album Release~

3. Diana

4. You & I

5. Happily

6. Strong

A LOT of gems on MM. Midnight Memories, as much as I love it, was a bad single choice and badly handled. You & I is still perfect, if only they'd handled that campaign better as well. :P Happily and Strong are both TUNES, so I'm sure they would've faired well, as for Diana... well it's quintessential One Direction really, isn't it?

New Album

To me this is perfect, if only they'd handle their single campaigns slightly better.
