June 25, 201412 yr Author Ed Sheeran is on 99k and Coldplay had managed 105k by the Wednesday Update - Ed Sheeran has closed the gap by 1k when comparing to how well Coldplay did, so could be possible for him to outsell their first week sales. Would seem he's at least on line for ~150k though.
June 25, 201412 yr 'Thinking Out Loud' still top 20 without the instant grat sales though apparently! That and 'Don't' are holding up well on iTunes (I know 'Don't' is already receiving airplay and I think it is the 2nd single possibly? But not sure how 'Thinking Out Loud' is holding up so well) so they should both remain top 40 anyway. 'Thinking Out Loud' seems to be a standout for a lot of people, judging from reviews and online comments. Ed also performed it on Jools Holland a month ago which got a bit of attention. Perhaps it was performed somewhere else this week/more recently as well but I'm not sure. I'd imagine it'll be a single down the line. Great song. And yeah, 'Don't' is the second single and the subject matter has been getting a lot of attention.

I expected this to hold up better than 'She Looks So Perfect' did as it is closer to their 'supposed' genre of pop punk, but as a few guessed, this has been their 'Wild Heart'.
June 25, 201412 yr Didn't expect the Ed Sheeran tracks to fall that far. Glad to see "Don't" hanging around though, should definitely get pushed as the second single (though it's another uptempo track, unsure how it'll do). Yay at "Tremor" looking to make the T25 officially too, I'd feared it would only sneak in to the T40 a few days ago.

True, but I just thought that if they are being more true to themselves, it would have a better effect. But I suppose it seems they've established themselves as a One Direction-esque pop band now and they have that sort of fan-base and it's too late to break out of that.

June 26, 201412 yr Agree with the comparison of 5Sos and Busted, they are a teen pop band nothing really to do with 'pop punk' in the tradition of Blink, NFG, Sum42 etc... (Which is a shame I loved that era, 'Hit or Miss' anyone?)

June 27, 201412 yr Tremor overtaking Mmm Yeah :D Nice to see Gecko still #1 too :) Hopefully we know the lead it has over Ghost. Example going back top 5 is amazing as the song is so much better than Kids Again and All the Wrong Places, loving the 90s house feel to it.
June 27, 201412 yr Wonderful to see Example holding firm for a strong position on Sunday. I really would love Ella Henderson to be the number 1 on Sunday and i still feel she will manage it.
