Posted June 25, 201411 yr For the last 20 years or so, Northern Ireland has built up a reputation for harrowing road safety adverts. But even by their quite shocking standards, their latest one is rather brutal - MD8BkIgp9Fo So do you think that the latest advert is one step too far, or is it necessary to avoid future road tragedies?
June 25, 201411 yr Wow. That shocked me a bit to be honest :o I don't get it though, he skidded on the road and had an unavoidable accident? Didn't look drunk or like he was speeding or anything.
June 25, 201411 yr It's shocking, but at the same, adverts like this NEED to rely on shock value as it's such an important message they're advertising. Road accidents can't be magically stopped, so the more scary the ad is, the more the message will stay and likely to have an effect. I don't think those images and statistics will be leaving the audience's heads any time soon, so as hard as it is to watch, it's definitely necessary. Whether it actually has an effect is another question of course.
June 25, 201411 yr A bit of shock factor is good for adverts like this I think. This advert is probably too shocking (I totally didn't expect the whole class to be killed, just one would've been sad enough) but the truth hurts and people gotta know the facts.
June 25, 201411 yr The frames showing a load of flattened kids are a bit much. Otherwise it's very effective.
June 26, 201411 yr I like the way it makes you feel like it's going to be for John Lewis. Buzzjack of course cares little for road safety and is more interested in who is singing the cover version and whether it will propel them into the top 5 on itunes.

I'll get my coat.
June 26, 201411 yr There was a one car crash in my village on Saturday, caused by some stupid ex beauty queen speeding through the village and then crashing into the bridge of the bypass which leads up to the A12. Things like this need to be shown
July 5, 201411 yr  It could crash into the top 40. I'll get my coat. And honestly in the video it just looks like he's driving normally so I don't get it! They should have made it more obvious it was dangerous driving and not an accident.
