It has a nice melody, but her voice is terribly annoying. :(

Fantastic to see 'Left Outside Alone' in the Top 40, what a song! 'Move' is by far Little Mix's best single to date. :D

35 NE 2013 Daft Punk feat. Pharrell - Get Lucky 295 (35)

34 35 2011 Adele - Someone Like You 296 (10 - 35 - 34)

33 85 2008 Rihanna - Disturbia 298 (44 - 13 - 35 - 63 - 85 - 33)

32 47 2012 Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe 303 (47 - 32)

31 NE 2013 Lana Del Rey vs. Cedric Gervais - Summertime Sadness 308 (31)

We reach the highest two new entries on this year's edition, just short of the top half of the final. The second highest new entry goes to 'Get Lucky' by Daft Punk which was initially somewhat of a surprise UK #1 but of course went on to be a behemoth hit (though featured Pharrell has gone on to have two even bigger hits since in a year of unprecedented dominance). 'Get Lucky' was universally adored more or less on here to begin with but over time its detractors have got louder so it's quite surprising to me that it's as high as #35 but it's still a fantastic song so I'm not complaining.

The highest new entry then is Lana Del Rey & Cedric Gervais' 'Summertime Sadness (Lana Del Rey vs. Cedric Gervais) [Cedric Gervais Remix]', a remixed version of a track from Del Rey's first (well, second really) album 'Born To Die' which became her biggest hit to date and probably also her most accessible, so it's no wonder it's done so well on here. It falls just short of a top 30 debut but watch out for it in later years, I have a feeling it could climb.

Three females of varying relevance fill up the rest of this section. Carly Rae Jepsen's extremely of-the-time 'Call Me Maybe' is somehow regarded more highly now than last year. I won't even speculate how that's happened but nonetheless it's up 15 to #32. Rihanna's extremely overrated 'Disturbia' goes up to a four year high of 33rd. Finally Adele's monster hit 'Someone Like You', which hit a second year slump last year, stabilises and moves up one place to 34th.

Summertime Sadness is decent, but a bit overrated on here i think. Glad that 'Get Lucky' made the top 40 though, despite half of buzzjack hating it for some reason

Love everything in that section except 'Call Me Maybe', which is good but very of-its-time, as has been said. I foresee 'Someone Like You' continuing its upward chart run in the years to come as its overexposure wares off in the minds of voters and its classic status is cemented.

I don't mind get lucky- I really like it one day and I hate it another day

Call me maybe is an absolutely song and one of my favourites of the last w years

Disturbia is also one of Rihanna's best

Someone like you is obviously superb

And yay that Queen Lana is the highest new entry this year

Given the general propensity of this game to have a bias to the more recent years, it really shows what dross mainstream 2013 was that no song from it makes the top 30.

'Call Me Maybe' is HORRIFICLY overrated.

Like, I don't even understand HOW it's good.

I don't think Get Lucky is hated on here really, it's few detractors are just fairly vocal about it :P #35 seems about right, at least it fared better than Blurred Lines on here!

30 73 2007 Girls Aloud - Sexy! No No No... 312 (X - 42 - 99 - 104 - 177 - 73 - 30)

29 33 2005 Gorillaz (feat. De La Soul) - Feel Good Inc. 315 (40 - 136 - 89 - X - 59 - 11 - 35 - 33 - 29)

28 44 2008 M.I.A - Paper Planes 318 (X - X - 52 - 36 - 44 - 28)

27 30 2007 Nelly Furtado - Say It Right 320 (2 - 8 - 39 - 13 - 9 - 30 - 27)

26 50 2012 Azealia Banks - 212 329 (50 - 26)

Kicking off the top 30 is the sole song in the top 60 that I do not have on my iTunes. This therefore means it is the worst of the bunch. Sexy! No No No... gets a shiny new peak on this runthrough and is actually the second-highest Girls Aloud song, ludicrous as that may seem.

From the worst to the absolute best, the song I gave my own top score to, Gorillaz' sole representation in this final, Feel Good Inc. Unlike last year it didn't take an early lead in the results but holds the honoured distinction of actually getting the joint-3rd highest number of top scores, as along with me, Seven, Jade and Jester showed rather exquisite taste. The songs that have it beat on that front are all far higher up and all far more 'Buzzjack' songs. So I'm rather pleased with that, although it's a shame it couldn't quite get near its peak of #11. Celebrating 5 straight years in the final, it should hopefully get a sixth next year to finish on a high.

Nearly as good, and getting a new peak, is M.I.A's commercial peak, Paper Planes. It's been (mostly) steadily rising since it got into the final and this looks like it could be the culmination of that if I were to be pessimistic. It's recently been one of 2008's biggest hitters on Buzzjack, which pleases me greatly, so long may that continue. Just two places above it is another rap single, the iconic and dirty 212 which launched the career of Ms Azealia Banks who has since preceded to utterly ruin her chance at ever continuing it with a comedy of errors including Twitter wars and broke album releases (with expensive taste). All that hasn't done much to our love of 212, which nearly halves its debut position after stealing a second place in the 2012 round away from Titanium and doing very well in the early stages of this game. At one point while I was adding it up it was challenging for a top 5/10 position, which obviously fell away but the love we have for this song continues to surprise me in a very nice way.

Finally, Say It Right does nothing to try and take the title it was once one position away from claiming and climbs 3 places into further mid-table obscurity. It's still done well but clearly it isn't as universally loved on here as it was at the beginning.

Kicking off the top 30 is the sole song in the top 60 that I do not have on my iTunes.

Your iTunes must be a sad and depressing place. I'm so sorry Iz. :(

I'd hardly say that "Say it Right" is in mid-table obscurity, it's over half a decade old and from an artist that a total of no one actually cares about anymore, I'm surprised that it's not fallen any further! It's still a great song though and obviously the best of the Loose tracks (as shown by the results).

That Girls Aloud track is dreadful, I'd completely forgotten about it until this competition.

Most of my faves have already dropped out so not anticipating loving the top 25

'Sexy! No No No...' a worthy Top 30 entrant. :D
