The Final Final dictates the order of the top 60, the rest of the results are already decided.

Hush, Bré's a very busy boy.

I'm back now, we'll be resuming shortly. For reals. I hope to have this concluded by the end of next week. Or something like that.

Lolol sry

Iz is back to keep me in check now though ~ I should have just not pretended I was gonna continue this while he was on holiday :D

Okay let me see if I still remember how to do this...

75 78 2006 Beyoncé - Irreplaceable 140 43 3.256 (105 - 176 - 55 - 31 - 44 - 79 - 78 - 75)

74 71 2010 Rihanna - Only Girl (In The World) 142 43 3.302 (37 - 62 - 71 - 74)

73 NE 2013 Taylor Swift - I Knew You Were Trouble. 142 43 3.302 (73)

72 112 2005 The Killers - Somebody Told Me 146 44 3.318 (30 - 14 - 26 - 19 - 22 - 23 - 57 - 112 - 72)

71 102 2012 Disclosure feat. Sam Smith - Latch 143 43 3.326 (102 - 71)

Beyoncé's 'Irreplaceable' had a bit of a bumpy ride in this game up intl the last three years but has now found its place around the mid to low 70s, climbing three places this year to #75. It is still yet to miss the top 200 and hasn't missed the top 100 since its second year. Another big female pop star remaining in the 70s is Rihanna with 'Only Girl (In The World)' which drops slightly to #74, spending its first four years in the top 100 but declining year on year. One of these is a good song and it's not the one with parentheses in the title.

At #73 we have what I believe is the highest placed song that was one of you guys' nominations in the very first stages of the contest. Taylor Swift's 'I Knew You Were Trouble.' somehow wasn't an auto-qualifier for 2013 but it's nonetheless ultimately come fairly close to the grand finale. It's all AQs from this point onwards though.

The Killers' 'Somebody Told Me' ruined its 100% grand final record last year as it slipped all the way to #112. It has climbed back into the top 100 this year at #72 but can't quite get back to its grand final glory that it achieved in every year prior to 2013. It has one more chance to go out on a high, let's make it happen. Finally at #71 is a song with lots of chances left, Disclosure and Sam Smith's 'Latch'. This song was the first we'd heard of either artist in the chart and was something of a surprise hit at the time. Of course now it would never be a surprise for either to get a hit. It fell heartbreakingly short of the top 100 last year but corrects that with a 31 place jump.

Irreplaceable and only girl are great

I knew your were trouble is like one of the 5 classics from last year. I love and adore that song. It's up there in the top 3 Taylor songs ever which is saying something from me

Latch and Somebody Told Me

liked Only Girl at the time too, was never fussed with IKYWT and Irreplaceable

Disclosure is a BIT high, considering how new it is.

And it's not THAT good.

Only Girl is SO much better than Irreplaceable, although granted I quote the latter on a regular basis because I am a #basicgay

as I've said before I've never loved Latch like their other singles, but it's nice to see it do well nonetheless

70 141 2009 Cheryl Cole - Fight For This Love 147 44 3.341 (X - 122 - 186 - 141 - 70)

69 68 2005 Sugababes - Push The Button 147 44 3.341 (14 - 23 - 28 - 41 - 46 - 63 - 103 - 68 - 69)

68 87 2006 Shakira feat. Wyclef Jean - Hips Don't Lie 148 44 3.364 (29 - 152 - 113 - 92 - 67 - 73 - 87 - 68)

67 109 2011 Adele - Set Fire To The Rain 145 43 3.372 (131 - 109 - 67)

66 NE 2013 Arctic Monkeys - Do I Wanna Know? 145 43 3.372 (66)

Cheryl Cole's alleged 'most remembered' single lives up to that accolade to start off this section as Fight For This Love nearly halves its position from last year, in what is by far her highest position so far. At this rate it's not long until she actually does have (solo) songs in the final. Another song also getting a well-earned new peak is Adele's third song from 21 as we show we're not all quite bored of her yet. Despite never peaking as high in the charts as its elder two brethren, Set Fire To The Rain got played almost as much and hung around for a long time, almost enough time to temporarily ruin what was originally the clear highlight of 21 for me. We're still not bored of her are we? No? Let's see if one of her other two drops a bit first.

Push The Button shows us the unusual example of a song that peaked first time round and has declined ever since with nothing really to prop it up. Aside from one year dipping outside the top 100 and the bounce back it's just carried on slowly downwards. Even with the Sugas it feels very much 2005's news so that could be explainable. It has had its first 5 years in the final so it has always been one of our favourites. Strangely, the one above it, Hips Don't Lie, probably the biggest worldwide hit of 2006 by a very popular artist here, has only ever been in the final once, settling for being around these levels the rest of the time. I could have sworn Buzzjack likes this enough have it been among our best at some point beyond 2007? :( Maybe it just has a similar deal to Push The Button, being of its time.

Finally we have a 2013 song making an entry, the figureheads of 00s indie-rock, the Arctics coming back for a bit of a mature roll of the dice. Which Do I Wanna Know achieves very well, it has a quiet power and a glorious pathos that builds throughout the song to make it an instant AMs classic, and as such I'm not surprised it's this high already. Amazingly they have 2 songs in the final as well so that makes 3 songs by one male act in the top 100. Excellent.

Fun fact: all of these songs peaked at either #1 or #11. The former isn't too hard up this high but having 2 of the latter next to each other is pretty impressive.

I don't really like hips don't lie. Do I wanna know is a very good song

The other 3 are classics for me. Set fire to the rain is one of the best songs on one of the best albums ever, I adore fight for his love and it is one of my favourites songs ever and so is push the button

All great songs.

HDL is overrated, mind you.

A great couple of sections there. "Irreplaceable", "Only Girl (In The World)" and "Hips Don't Lie" are amongst my favourites by their respective artists. "Do I Wanna Know?" is one of last year's great anthems, so I'm pleased to see it doing so well upon its début. Fantastic that "Fight For This Love" has finally reached the top 100 - final 60 next year please!

All caught up! Some great songs to have passed, shame that Firework ended so low, really seems like something that'd smash here. STRINGS, HUGE CHORUS etc

From that section, adore Hips Don't Lie and Push The Button

Time to finally close final final voting by posting this section.

65 NE 2013 Icona Pop feat. Charli XCX - I Love It 149 44 3.386 (65)

64 26 2012 Swedish House Mafia feat. John Martin - Don't You Worry Child 151 44 3.432 (26 - 64)

63 275 2008 Britney Spears - Womanizer 150 43 3.488 (51 - 87 - 129 - 112 - X - 63)

62 19 2012 Gotye feat. Kimbra - Somebody That I Used To Know 155 44 3.523 (19 - 62)

61 114 2011 Katy Perry feat. Kanye West - E.T. 156 43 3.628 (165 - 114 - 61)

The nearest miss of the final final out of the new crop for 2013 is 'I Love It' by Icona Pop feat. Charli XCX which debuts at #65. The song has very wide commercial appeal and blah blah but luckily myself and Iz both hate it and we're the ones running this thing so you will all deal. One that I emphatically hope does NOT improve on its position in later editions.

There are a couple of songs here that were in the last new crop and, while still fresh in people's memories, got off to very impressive starts, however as they have aged a bit and the honeymoon so to speak has passed they take significant tumbles in their second year. Two one hit wonders for the price of one, 'Somebody That I Used To Know' has transitioned from unavoidable airplay staple and mega long running top 10 hit ness to more or less forgotten scarily quickly, which is reflected by a drop from the top 20 to 62. It's still a very good song but the status it once had is almost unimaginable now. Swedish House Mafia's final single 'Don't You Worry Child' makes a pleasing drop from 26 to 64. SHM were, up to and not including this song, pretty much the best and most consistent act around in the charts for me. 'Don't You Worry Child' however I never held in quite the same regard as its 5 predecessors (still got to #2 in my personal chart though lol) and what appreciation I had of it was quickly sapped away by incessant radio overplay that pretty much didn't stop until like a month ago. I'm all for SHM having a big classic hit but why does it have to be THIS one? [/minirant]

In contrast to the above Katy Perry's best single 'E.T.' (featuring Kanye 'Yeezus' West) has been gradually growing on people in this game, making a second healthy climb in a row. It makes the top 100 for the first time and only just missed out on the final final, coming in 61st. Finally there's been a big revival for Britney Spears' 'Womanizer' for some reason. It made the grand final in its first go and hasn't done so again since but this is its first year in the top 100 in the last 4 years, and it finishes just 12 places lower than its fresh debut. I actually quite like the song despite that going against everything that should be.

God I hope you don't get to write about Midnight City. That commentary for Don't You Worry Child  Just think of the praise I would have given it had we been lucky enough.

Time to get a final result decided! :o

Somebody That I Used To Know is NOT and NEVER WILL BE 'forgotten' in any way, shape or form thank you.

still the most iconique hit song of 2012 without question~

Womanizer is one of the best songs ever

I hate don't you worry child so much, I like I love it and ET

I also like somebody that I used to know- the best was when I heard it on capital for my first time, I said in the car it would drop out of the charts after 2 weeks  How wrong was I
