August 24, 201412 yr The Saturdays was almost overtaken by Queen Kate Bush's 29-year-old album in their second week? LOL
August 24, 201412 yr Would've been some quite interesting new entries at the bottom of the sales chart if it weren't from streaming this week, Cliff Richard top 40 :o
August 24, 201412 yr Good to see 4 new entries in the top 10! Although only 5 in the top 40 overall. Sad that Chris Malinchak and T.I. missed out though. :( Edited August 24, 201412 yr by Eric_Blob
August 24, 201412 yr Author 2 top 100 new entries for Royal Blood this week (giving them 4 pre-album top 100 hits off their debut album, must be a very rare achievement for a rock band). Mallory Knox also picking up a top 100 single. With Saint Motel also cracking the top 40 and further new entries for Ben Howard and, er, Nickelback, all in all a very good week for rock/alternative music in the singles chart! And not rock at all of course but quite surprised Klangkarussell managed to hold on in the top 100 all week with their follow-up single. Did this one get any airplay at all? I hesitate to say it's a 'shame' but it would have been interesting if the chart was still sales only as this could have been Cliff Richard's only chance of further extending his record of appearing in the top 40 in consecutive decades, with 'I Still Believe In You' scraping a #40 re-entry on sales. Would have been potentially awkward if they did have to play that on the chart show! Streaming also saving the awkwardness of another top 40 entry for a fake version.

It's said that streaming will further benefit the old Christmas songs when the time comes so Mistletoe and Wine has a good chance to make it seven decades in a row in the top 40 for Cliff. August 24, 201412 yr It's said that streaming will further benefit the old Christmas songs when the time comes so Mistletoe and Wine has a good chance to make it seven decades in a row in the top 40 for Cliff. Except Mistletoe and Wine won't be streamed a lot if Cliff Richard *is* found to be guilty  Either way I can't see it returning to the top 40. It's not exactly the most popular Christmas song is it.
August 24, 201412 yr The album chart makes it look rather like Kate Bush has died. Edited August 24, 201412 yr by AntoineTTe
August 24, 201412 yr It's worth noting that in the sales chart The Saturdays dropped from 25 to 94  When will my faves ever?
August 24, 201412 yr Except Mistletoe and Wine won't be streamed a lot if Cliff Richard *is* found to be guilty  Either way I can't see it returning to the top 40. It's not exactly the most popular Christmas song is it. I remember checking the Xmas streaming chart a few weeks ago to see if we can expect any random hits and the usual popular songs got to the top 40 except a few Michael Buble tracks and Greg Lake was top 40 on streaming when he is usually top 200 on sales!
August 25, 201412 yr Crazy how much more interesting the sales only chart is..what a huge shame. That's just what I was thinking when I saw the sales only chart  Oh well...
August 25, 201412 yr Lovely to see the Kate Bush invasion, true legend. Gary Barlow remaining top 75 yet again is an added bonus.
August 25, 201412 yr I am really please for 'My Head Is A Jungle', this is a great top 5 entry. Also happy to see 'This is how we do' up 28 places, hopefully it keeps on climbing in the next few weeks. :) I wasn't expecting such a drop for 'Crazy stupid love' after the midweeks, but streaming is really getting her down. This week shouldn't be too bad though. The album charts is quite boring lately, but oh well... How much has Paloma sold this year? It's outstanding how much success she got this era!
August 25, 201412 yr Not too fussed about most of those new/re-entries missing out due to streaming as the only one I liked was No Mediocre. It's a huge shame Vandaag missed out on another week though.
