May 27, 20214 yr Just finished watching this, so good! There’s a few strange omissions of guests (mainly Paul Rudd imo but presumably for availability issues) but the main cast are all there and both them and the special in general is so emotional I loved it.
May 27, 20214 yr surely it's going to be huge with the ratings? Anything under 10m would be an under performance
May 27, 20214 yr Loved it, thought it was great. Done it the best possible way. Agree with Dexton on the Paul Rudd omission, the Peter one I’d have liked there was Ross’s son Ben. I know he was played by twins though.
May 27, 20214 yr Me too I really enjoyed it and thought it was done well, lisa kudrow great to see she had kept away from the whole botox world, I thought she looked amazing, it's so clear they are all genuinely very close in real life and always have been which is great.
May 28, 20214 yr When they showed the moment after they wrapped S10 It broke me, the special itself was so funny but also very emotional in places. Just what I wanted. I agree with what Lisa Kudrow said about new episodes if we did that the writers would have to unravel the happy endings we got.
May 28, 20214 yr Yeh really enjoyed this loved all the wee cameos especially the guy from downstairs! Always thought he was quite old when watching it but just compared to them prob was only about 45-50 at the time 😂
May 28, 20214 yr I thought this was brilliant. I was really emotional at times, especially when it showed you the cast after shooting the last episode. It’s really nice to see how genuinely friendly they all are. I’m sad with what Lisa said re new episodes; I get where she is coming from but last night showed they still have a spark and I think would be stupid not to do more. I think a film would be perfect to show where they all are in life now.
May 28, 20214 yr I was such a huge fan of Friends when it was on. I actually started watching if just a few episodes in to the first run of S1 on Channel 4 and I remember asking people if they watched it and no-one knew what I was talking about. I watched as Joey, Ross, Rachel, Monica, Chandler and Phoebe became Matt, David, Jennifer, Courtney, Matthew and Lisa because rather than being the rather down-to-earth characters in the first couple of seasons they became over-styled versions of themselves even in the show. I preferred it when it was all a little unknown. I loved the Reunion and think they did it perfectly. I don't want new episodes as they wouldn't work for the very reasons that Lisa K gave in the show. I think I was expecting just an interview and some clips, so seeing them revisit the stages and play the game and show some unseen footage was amazing.
May 28, 20214 yr Ya I agree with what lisa said and I'm happy to leave the show as it was. I dont fully agree with courtney, friends continues to attract new audiences so a reunion down the road would be nice for those fans and also fans like ourselves who loved the show when it first aired. The reunion last night was perfect, I loved all the behind the scenes stuff especially from the final wrap.
May 28, 20214 yr I think we need a new series. They are worried about doing it because of how badly Joey, and new Will and Grace, flopped
May 28, 20214 yr I loved the reunion episode! Had a smile on my face throughout it... a great trip down memory lane and the chemistry they still have is great to see. I lean towards it being the correct decision to not attempt a new series or a movie though... I agree with Lisa's view on things. It was wrapped up in such a lovely way, and I'm not convinced there's a huge need to dip back into those characters' lives again. I was relieved that James Corden's contributions were tolerable and minimal x
May 28, 20214 yr I agree with Lisa too! As much as I would love a new series she is totally right, they ended it in such a good way that it would be a shame to undo that. Also the producers were right in that it was time to end it by that point as they were starting to become families and when you get to that stage your friends take a background part in your life as your main focus becomes your family. They ended it at the perfect time. (Although I wish we had a few more series!)
May 28, 20214 yr I think we need a new series. They are worried about doing it because of how badly Joey, and new Will and Grace, flopped Purposely not mentioning the Joey show was a nice touch  I think they’d all like the pretend that didn’t happen Tbf it wasn’t actually that bad as a show, but coming after Friends was a huge step down and it forced Joey to regress as a character for it to work
May 28, 20214 yr Aw I loved watching this  I don't have the Sky channel so I couldn't watch it as it aired, I created a NOW TV free trial just to be able to watch it haha, then cancelled right after. Near the end I had a little cry because why not. I do absolutely feel more comfortable with there being no movie or new episodes or anything, it would just feel 'off' somehow at this stage. It ended at a particular time for a reason and Lisa indeed explained it well.
May 28, 20214 yr Completely missed that this was happening oops, but caught up now. Really enjoyed it, they may have not been in character but they might as well have been as I still instantly associated them with it even after thirty years, some wonderful callbacks and cameos (I was actually surprised the guy from downstairs is still alive, he doesn't look much older than he was!). You could tell that they genuinely still liked each other and wanted to do this not just out of fan service as well which made it a lot better. I could've done without celebrities like BTS and David Beckham that had nothing to do with the show, but I suppose they had to fill time somehow x Doubt we'll ever get anything like that again outside of maybe a ten minute short at some point, they're all in their 50s and I agree with what Lisa said that it just wouldn't feel right, the achievement really was finally getting them all together again! Loved seeing all the behind the scenes facts as well, I had no idea Matt dislocated his shoulder and Ross and Rachel was kind of a real life thing too! :o
May 29, 20214 yr (the Lady GaGa skit was so awkward. It would have been so much funnier if they just did the whole 'you ruined Smelly Cat' joke that they did with Chrissy on the show and with Taylor Swift a few years back)
