24 Katy Perry This Is How We Do - New iTunes peak for this. Where did Birthday peak on iTunes, was it #22?

#22 is the official chart peak, on iTunes it went as high as #18. :)

I'm still pretty confident 'This Is How We Do' will outpeak 'Birthday' officially.

It deserves to do so, it depends how much airplay picks up. It's only B-list on Radio 1 and Capital and Kiss are playing it but not very often.

I've got a feeling Radio 1 will A-list it today though.

Oh yay at Cheryl up to #16 ! :cheer: The song is holding quite well after the X Factor effect, nice to see it climbing back up. :)
When was the last time we've had 3 different songs top iTunes in the same week? (Sun-Sat)

Just after the "x" insta-grat craziness, Sing, Ghost & Kiss Me Kiss Me were all #1 on iTunes for part of the week.

If you don't include insta-grats, I think you have to go back to December, when Somewhere Only We Know, Hey Brother & One More Sleep all were at #1 for a Sun-Sat period.

Then 'Walking On Air' can smash next

I am really loving 'This Is How We Do' now but this is definitely the main reason i'm rooting for it to do well

Also happy to see G.R.L. holding strong. Have clicked with it now after ignoring it for a while.

I'm really not a fan of the Duke Dumont track. I am also getting bored of one week number 1's - I think it's bad for music - as years down the line will there be as many stand out tracks to talk about...

Completely disagree. We should savour this year with all the variation & rotation at number 1. 3/4 years down the line when the chart will most likely act like that of the Billboard & we're struggling to get 10 number 1's all year we'll look back & yearn for the likes of this year.

Hopefully it won't get that extreme thanks to the fact that we don't include airplay, the UK is a smaller country and people might still hold back songs then (meaning shorter chart runs).

But yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if we'll get some 7+ weekers at #1 in the last half of the decade. On the streaming only chart, Rather Be got 11 weeks at #1 I think. If streaming had a higher weighting (which it will in the future), then I think 1 weekers will become quite rare, and longer runs will be more common.

Yes at Lilly Wood getting back to number one, deserves a 2 week run though I'm not going to celebrate too soon, still got 3 more days to go...
