2. The Script - Superheroes 96.61%

This is certainly going to be #1 on iTunes at some point this week, most likely today. The way that this song has increased in the past 24 hours and the way that it's been in non-stop green on kworb is reminiscent of a song that would not have had any pre-orders in the singles chart (i.e a song released from an EP).

If Duke Dumont released his song last week like he was supposed to then The Script would certainly have been this week's number one and probably with a big lead as well.

Even Prayer in C is at 90%... with a HUGE streaming week... they can take it? Or The Script...
I'm a fan of both, but with all these MOR tracks hanging around I'm not sure I want one of them claiming a #1.
I think 'Prayer In C' will keep the #1 this week but its exciting to have 3 possible contenders!
What is an MOR track?

MOR = Middle of the Road, which translates to "inoffensive" adult contemporary pop (Maroon 5, OneRepublic, The Script etc)

I know we've had a bit of a saturation of subtle dance number 1s recently, but another one would definitely be preferable to yet another part of The Script's same long song split up into different releases, they are capable of being quite good, but that side isn't often prevalent these days unfortunately (I know 'If it ain't broke...' etc. but it's still a shame)

I prefer 'Superheroes' to anything they released last time around but I still really don't want it at #1, especially over Duke.

The thing that annoys me about them is their lyrics always sound like they were written by a child, and when they try and be all 'empowering' they just come across as condescending and patronising.

Two red updates in a row for Superheroes, only barely gaining ground on Duke now (97% atm), but it looks like Prayer In C could get back to #1 pretty soon as that's back up to 91%
I really hope Duke Dumont grabs a third consecutive #1 this Sunday. He's one of the best house artists to come into the mainstream over the past two years and having three number ones in a row under his belt would be a great achievement for him.
It would be hilarious to see Duke Dumont pipped to the top spot after holding back for a non-competitive week - especially by a song that seemingly came from nowhere. Having said that, I wish it wasn't a track as offensively bland as 'Superheroes'. I'd much prefer 'Prayer In C' nabbed a second week.

6. Iggy Azalea - Black Widow (feat. Rita Ora)

25. George Ezra - Blame It on Me

29. Katy Perry - This Is How We Do

34. 5 Seconds of Summer - Amnesia

35. The Proclaimers - Cap In Hand

38. Paolo Nutini - Iron Sky

I still think Duke's got the #1 this week especially with the big pre-orders, although The Script and Lilly Wood will easily have more longevity.

Could go either way though, yay for a chart battle happening!

Agree with Thermo as I've said I expect Duke to have a big preorder lead and they are still ahead on kworb now so it should be No1 but with no more than 70k sales.

Greg James said earlier Calvin is getting his premiere this Thursday and released on Sunday!

There's a Proclaimers song in the top 40 that isn't THAT one. I demand an explanation!

(By which I mean, could someone please tell me why Cap In Hand is in the top 40?)

Appears to be a Facebook campaign to do with the Scottish independence referendum. A little early but I suppose we're in the right month now...

Will Duke's pre-orders be *that* big?? He barely got into the top 80 on iTunes, I think his pre-orders won't be that high at all. If The Script build up a decent lead on iTunes, I can definitely see them charting ahead. Whether they get the #1 depends on how big a boost Lilly Wood get from streaming.
