I really don't understand what happened with the Indiana song, I actually thought it had more casual appeal than 'Solo Dancing', plus it had Radio 1 support. On the other end of the chart, although we all saw it coming, I'm still quite surprised that Sam Smith managed to get a post-album Top 10 hit, considering how well the album's done. The chart is a strange place sometimes.

I seem to be alone in thinking Heart On Fire is a lot less 'hit-sounding' than Solo Dancing! I know they're both kinda dark/subtle, but to me Solo Dancing feels considerably more 'hook-filled'/poppier than Heart On Fire does

it's a shame Indiana missed the Top 100 especially since it's in the top 75 on sales alone... such a good song

She didn't miss the top 100, she's at #89 :P

Its a huge fall for Union J, they really have their work carried out to get future success especially that the new crop of x factor stars are soon on their way.

Seeing so many Kate Bush entries is fantastic.

Shame for M.O. As it would have been a nice surprise to see it go Top 40 and knowing it did on sales alone makes it extremely annoying.

Surprised that 'Blame It On Me' has actually been damaged heavily by streaming :o

I'm guessing it'll be helped by streaming later on in its chart run, it's still early days for it.

Of course Union J won't achieve another 'sizeable' hit (none of their hits to date really qualify for that) but one week in the top 20 is very achievable with their fanbase.

You're probably joking but comments like this really piss me off.

How many streams do the OCC take a week from an account? Isn't it 10 for every 30 seconds or something like that?

Indiana is a surprise to completely miss out  Gary Barlow still remaining on the album chart
Radio 1 chart show needs a revamp, Nos 21 to 40 don't need playing every week its getting boring now listening to the same tracks week after week, just a few new entries, extend the album chart, and play new tracks from within the top 75.

I think you're right, the format needs a shake up but given that streaming sales have meant we have 3/4 new entries missing the chart it would be hard to pick which songs got played each week as the 40-21 just isn't changing that much week on week.

Maybe there should be a bigger focus on playing new music to get the hype for the releases for that week maybe but I agree with your ideas of extending the album chart or even play some tracks that have missed the top 40 to help them climb the following week

Just why has the band The Prick been sensored in the UK. It's just warped minds. & stupid BBC

My copy of the single has them as Lilly Wood & The Prick & Robin Schultz.

True meaning of Prick by Oxford English Dictionary is:

1. Make a small hole with a sharp point

2. Pierce

3. To prick is an act of piercing something with a sharp point .

4. To make an animals ears erect when alert - (the cat pricked up its ears)

So what's wrong with that!!

There would be more complaints if it was included than if it wasn't. Completely wrong of course, but blame media oversensitiveness to the most minor things.
'Prick' is English slang for male genitalia.

This didn't happen even in the prudish 70s when the group Pussycat had a hit

Well we all know what Pussy means in English slang

Even the 70s sitcom Are You Being Served had a Mrs Slocom referring to her Pussy and that didn't get censored.

Pussycat is a different word to 'pussy' - they haven't censored 'Wankelmut' either. Lilly Wood is clearly a different case.

Or even the official Top100 as it is now.

Well maybe that is an indicator that you should stop living in the 70s...

I hate all this political correctness. Prick isn't a swear word such as F**K or anything like that - it has a genuine natural meaning.
