Not really any effect for Amnesia :o

Did they even perform it or did they perform something else. Stupid question maybe but sometimes artists do perform other tracks instead of their latest single. Weird anyhow.

An even bigger effect for "Say Something" than last time though :o

YAS!

And still both GREEN! CALVIN!

Im glad Amnesia hasnt had a massive boost because that 5SOS performance on Strictly last night was dreadful and I'm not just saying that because I can't stand the group but it sounded awful, the vocals in particular...

Sorry if it's already been asked but how come Jessie J - Sexy Lady is at 86? It's not 59p?

With Prayer In C getting 11K sales from streaming and nothing for Blame... they will win him. :( SAD!!!

I'm all for Prayer In C getting 3 weeks to be honest.

Week after

Sigma & Paloma will probably get a week, after that Jessie J & Friends probably get a week, after that Meghan Trainor, probably a long runner at #1 considering her track is already #75 in the official chart. I really hate All About That Bass with passion.

I ADORE PIC But I want Blame this week... it's his only chance... he is increasing his lead but PIC still DARK GREEN all the time with HUGE streaming points... it will be hard. Where is Blame on Spotify?

Spotify hasn't updated for today yet. We should know a bit later on ;)

UPDATE HERE PLEASE :) The gap is not more than 15%...

Can anyone confirm whether streaming is actually properly accounted for in the mids or not? Songs with low streaming sales (i.e. mostly new releases) always end up much lower on Sunday than the mids and I can't work out why. I get that sales for new releases are typically front loaded and so sell more at the start of the week, but looking at what happens currently, this would imply that it's the opposite for streaming. But I can't believe that significantly more people stream in the second half of the week than the first half, that doesn't make sense. So why is there such a difference between the mids and the official charts lately? The only logical explanation is that the midweek figures don't include streaming (even though we've been told they do).

I don't think anyone can confirm this. For sure some streaming are included in the midweeks, but as always mids are always a bit vague, there are missing data, also with streaming.

Also I can easily imagine that people stream more music towards the end of the week (Friday, Saturday), because they don't work, are not in the school so have more time to listen to music, before going to a party, or at the party they use the services of a streaming site. :)

'Blame' stands a good chance of doing well on Spotify from the get go, the first playlist you see on the Spotify homepage screen is 'Blame: This Is Calvin Harris - New single Blame feat. John Newman is live now'. His team have got their promotion for this single so on point.

One things for sure unless a new entry is 10k ahead of an established song thats top 5 in the streaming chart you are likely to miss out on the mid week peak!

Let's hope so... Any updates for today's Spotify?

What they need to do is release non OA/OS songs to streaming a couple of weeks before download release so that they can build up momentum. Otherwise it does put a bit of a spanner in the works of the whole "holding a song back to maximise first week chart position"!
Then they wouldn't really be On Air/On Sale, would they?

That's what he said :P

And that is what quite a few artists have done already, mostly international acts (MKTO, Nico & Vinz, MAGIC! and Meghan Trainor being the four biggest ones as they made the top 100 on streams alone) though some British acts have released slightly earlier on streaming (Jess Glynne, Charli XCX and Duke Dumont off the top of my head).

He said they should do that for the non OA/OS songs.

Anyway I really hope that Blame does reach #1 and has a long chart run as it's a brilliant example of a release strategy that works and is one of Calvin's best too!

The release of 'Blame' has been handled incredibly well, the perfect mixture of building up hype and not taking the piss with the wait time between premiere and release. I haven't heard it yet (to the surprise of no one) but I'd like to see it hit #1 just for the artists. It would be the 11th #1 single produced by Calvin (including 'Spectrum') in just a little over 6 years! :o Plus SIR NEWMAN picking up that 4th #1 smash *.*

Wouldn't surprise me if Lilly Wood and Robin Schulz take it back by the end of the week though. Shame about Ten Walls being a tad frontloaded but hopefully he should be at least top 10 which is still a fantastic achievement for a song that sounds like that (and for a Lithuanian artist!)

Lol at Rick Ross potentially coming for a top 10 hit this week. 'New Flame' has completely passed me by, very surprised to see it doing this well, potentially could even outpeak 'Loyal'... (though I suspect streaming will probably end up keeping it at #11/12 or so).
