I don't understand how if these are all instant grats why the pop bars are different if they were released at the same time?
Because people can buy the songs individually if they like

I doubt they will, but it'd be good if they did to prevent 'Bang Bang' getting to #1.

Lets hope it charts close to the top 40 on streaming - that would be interesting!

Those Alt-J songs seem to be falling rapidly already. I'd expect them all out of the top ten by this evening
The entire album is available on Spotify now too, interestingly. I don't really see what they huge gain they get from releasing multiple tracks at once, as any sales from them are likely to just convert into album sales. Hopeful that the album opens on some higher figures though, surely Lady Gaga and Tony Bennet don't stand a chance?

I'm guessing it leaked (or it was about to be)? Whatever the case is, I need to boot up my UK proxy pronto because I need to hear this.

48 plays over the last 30 days according to Compare My Radio. Sorry the information is a bit general! In case your interested in how that stacks up against some of the other major upcoming releases, 'All About That Bass' has 58 plays over the last 30 days while 'Bang Bang' has 231 plays.
Ooh. Thank you. Getting a fair amount of plays then! Just checked their website and she's on their playlist so that's good news! It's probably responsible for her being higher than I thought she'd currently be at on iTunes.

That Alt-J top 5 takeover is insane!

Yay at Alt J getting loads of instant grats high up, hope this translates into album sales and it can be #1. The album is so strong so I'm definitely on board.
iTunes Album Chart:

10. James Bay - Let It Go EP

One of my former BJSC artists nabbing some success, yay! ^_^

Is it still the pre orders that are making Sigma #1 at the moment or is there a particular time frame for purchases on iTunes that determines the order of the songs in the chart?

The iTunes chart is a 48 hour rolling chart so the pre-orders won't have an effect on Sigma now, they just happen to be selling a lot more than the #2 (Pro Green at 0.5312 if you forget alt-J's ineligible instant grats)

44 Power Music Workout All About That Bass (Workout Mix)

ha slayage ha real *.*

64 Meghan Tonjes All About That Bass

Ms Tonjes must be lucky her name is Meghan as I'm sure a lot of her sales are from people confusing her name for Meghan Trainor.

Hopefully the release is pulled forward to this Sunday, it'd be ridiculous to hold it back another week when it's already top 40 on iTunes as a pre-order and fakes getting sales.

Probably won't happen though because Bang Bang is down for release this Sunday (or alternatively Jessie and Meghan could swap release weeks)

Please let AATB be released this week to hold off Bang Bang. Also if they hold it back any longer it'll be a Prayer In C situation where it'll lose out a load of sales.
I like to imagine the Workout mix goes something like 'Don't worry about your size, just make sure that you PUMP!, PUMP!, PUMP!' :D

I don't think either song will want to go up against each other as they'll risk not going to #1. Sadly that's just how it works these days which means we rarely get big chart battles.

Really? I assumed that it was a 24 hour chart, Where is it written that it's a 48 hour chart?

if anything i'd imagine Bang Bang would hold All About That Bass off #1 (for one week at least) in that scenario~

Usually I'd be all for releasing a week early but I really want 'Bang Bang' and 'All About That Bass' to be #1 and if the latter gets released a week early I doubt the former will get there (unless they quickly put it back a week).
