November 17, 201410 yr Oh dear. That was not worth the reveal at all  Also, I hate those kind of songs on NOW albums 'cos it makes them date even quicker than usual.
November 17, 201410 yr Oh dear. That was not worth the reveal at all  Also, I hate those kind of songs on NOW albums 'cos it makes them date even quicker than usual. Agreed. Especially when they're as high up at D1 TR 8. I'm not too bothered if they're shoe horned on the last track of a disc like most XF Winners or charity songs are.
November 17, 201410 yr Author Since Ashley stopped compiling them the sequencing has gone right out the window. The tracklist order of disc 1 especially makes no sense to me. Cheryl and Gareth Malone swapping places would be a good start.
November 17, 201410 yr Since Ashley stopped compiling them the sequencing has gone right out the window. The tracklist order of disc 1 especially makes no sense to me. Cheryl and Gareth Malone swapping places would be a good start. Even Ashley did some weird orders, like NOW 77! I honestly am disappointed that it's that "Wake Me Up" song. It's bland, boring and total rubbish. I think I'll skip that song when I add it to my iTunes library.

All I'd have changed is swapped the Diana Vickers song with Katy On A Mission as the final track on each disc.
November 17, 201410 yr I don't think Now 77 is too bad. For me the worst track listing and running orders are Now 59 and Now 63. Both are dreadful in terms of the tracks on the albums and the running order sequence.
November 17, 201410 yr Author Agree with that. Now 59 was doomed from the off kicking off with that Blue non-song, while Now 63 was practically just a retirement home for X Factor rejects and flop pop. I guess the compilers have to work with the songs that are available to them at the time though so perhaps Now 63 was beyond help, late 2005/early 2006 wasn't exactly a vintage period for chart music.
November 17, 201410 yr Predictable and disappointing. I'm also not sure why they bothered to hype it up as TBC. We all knew/had heard the song when the rest of the list was revealed. Almost like they were waiting for it to be a hit.
November 17, 201410 yr There's a lot of Negative stuff regarding NOW 89! The bad tacklighting order, the exclusion of Taylor Swift and the editing of a lot of the songs as well. NOW are starting to ruin their own names
November 17, 201410 yr Perhaps they should spend more time getting these right then chucking the same tracks into a different order for the million spin offs we get every year. Or music could stop being shit these days.
November 18, 201410 yr Now Music have just tweeted:- "We can now officially announce that Track 8 on Now 89 is Gareth Malones All Star Chior with 'Wake Me Up' the current Number 1". Oh dear. what a poor choice for TBC track.
November 18, 201410 yr Ewwwwwwwwww, I'm really shocked they picked that, I was thinking for sure it was going to be "These Days." Can't charity singles just stay charity singles? The people that buy Nows for the pop and dance hits did want to listen to these snoozefests. Disc 1 is a total disaster. Edited November 18, 201410 yr by Casey
November 18, 201410 yr Am I the only one who is pretty happy with the tracklist? Yes there are some dull tracks on there which I don't want but it does include blame, changing, rude, blame it on me, superheroes, love runs out, break free and real love among others.
November 18, 201410 yr I probably like around 30 of the songs, so it's still a good buy. But, I hope they didn't ruin any of the songs by shaving off a few seconds off the ends of them. Edited November 18, 201410 yr by Casey
November 20, 201410 yr the editing of a lot of the songs as well. NOW are starting to ruin their own names NOW 88 was the worst for that. Four unnecessary edits ie. "Jubel", "I Wanna Feel", "Make U Bounce" and "Always" but they left "Hideaway" and "Calling All Hearts" untouched. As for CD 1, they could have done with one more song. For NOW 89, they should have edited "Walking With Elephants" and leave "Lullaby" and "Anaconda" untouched. Edited November 20, 201410 yr by Hadji
November 20, 201410 yr Yes please do as the other one is about to go over the 50 page limit! :D We can keep having separate threads for the main releases like this seeing as they attract lots of discussions, but all of the spin-offs and books and whatever else they release can go in that new topic.
November 20, 201410 yr I think we should have one topic for the spin offs, and then a new topic every year for the three Now!'s that are released annually. They create a lot of discussion, but not quite enough to warrant a new thread with every release, imo. I think we're jumping the gun a little. It's not a bad now at all. The exclusion of Taylor is a bit WTF, but with her Spotify vendetta atm, I'm not too surprised.
